Zixuan took a deep breath, clearing his mind.
Why was he blushing so much today?
"Sit here," he said softly, patting the bed.
Haoran nodded and sat beside him.
Zixuan hesitated, debating whether to speak or not. After battling with his mind and heart for a while, he finally whispered, "Let's give our marriage a try." His voice was so tiny that even Haoran, sitting right next to him, barely heard it.
"Marriage?" Haoran asked, unsure.
Gathering his confidence, Zixuan looked directly at him without avoiding his gaze.
"I said I'm going to give our marriage a try. Meaning I'll stop running away. I'll try to be a real partner, not one in name only." He said it all in one breath.
Haoran's gaze stayed fixed on him, unblinking. The heavy stare made the atmosphere awkward.
"Ehmm…" Zixuan averted his gaze. "You don't want to?"
Hearing the sadness in his tone, Haoran quickly snapped out of his daze. "No, no! I was just shocked."
