Her knees instantly went weak. "I didn't know, President Li. Please…"

"You didn't know after I told you? Maybe because you were busy shouting like a mad woman." Behind him, Zixuan sat up. "Even had the guts to come here to spot lies."

The receptionist froze mid-plea as she caught sight of him — disheveled, shirt wrinkled. By his look, something must have transpired.

Haoran, a little irritated by the unmoving gaze of the receptionist, snapped. "Stop looking or I'll chop your eyes off."

The receptionist quickly averted her gaze. "I'm sorry."

Haoran didn't answer the apology. "Apologize," he ordered.

"President Li—"

"To him."

The woman swallowed hard. "Mr. Zixuan."

Zixuan clicked his tongue, a smirk forming on his lips but his eyes humorless. "Save it," he said, voice smooth. "You were doing your job, right?"

The receptionist nodded stupidly.

He stood slowly, adjusting his shirt. "Good work."

The receptionist's eyes darted between them, panicking. "I didn't mean—"
