Kyra's POV
Kieran was silent the whole time we were in the car. He just sat beside me, his cedar and musk scent filling the space between us, his jaw clenched tightly enough to crack stone. My wolf, Sylvia, paced restlessly in my mind. Still, I was worried about what was going on in his head.
I bit my bottom lip as I remembered what happened between Nathan and me.
Even now, the memory of Nathan's minty breath against my skin made my pulse stutter. He kissed me and my heart started beating for him again. It's insanely absurd, but I knew I couldn't lie to myself anymore. I'm still in love with him, even after everything he's done and everything he hasn't.
"What do you want for dinner?" Kieran asked as soon as we entered the huge family house.
Right! I hadn't eaten anything yet. Aside from the fact that Sophia had ruined my mood, I didn't want to eat the food at their 'grand' engagement party.
