Aven grabbed the knife again, he looked confident like he had done it multiple times and was a master at it. He wasn't, he literally threw his knife at nothing just some moments ago.
Okay I can do this, believe in yourself. Aven you can do this !!!, he thought.
Aven's other hand was holding the onion, yes there was onion in this world and it was better than Earth's one as it didn't make you cry as much as the onions do there. Aven's hand which held the knife was hovering over the onion. Theren was watching, hoping this time he would do it. Tenebis Veritas was floating and glowing basically patiently waiting to see how Aven would fail this time, yeah it didn't believe Aven would pass.
You might have a question: how do I know Tenebis Veritas was thinking without it speaking and understanding just from it floating and glowing? I mean I'm the narrator lol.
Okay I need to stay in character so keep this a secret. so shh let me continue.
Aven's hand which held the knife hovered over the onion and when just when they thought he would cut the onion. He dropped it, yeah nothing dramatic happens he just dropped it. Theren just let out a heavy sigh. Tenebis Veritas glowed a bit more basically saying, "Wasn't I correct, yes you were O legendary sword."
"Aw damn it when I thought everything was perfect my hand gave up. I mean that knife is so heavy tho like what is it made of Sir Theren?" he said.
"It's literally not that heavy… at most maybe like 2 - 5 onions combined weight?" Theren replied.
"You are so weak mortal! I mean I shouldn't have expected much from a below average mortal like you but yeah I thought you could do better than that!" Tenebis Veritas said in a disappointing voice.
Aven didn't even reply this time. He knew what the sword said was true but he realised something else.
"Wait, one moment you have such a big ego and you are called a legendary sword. I understand where your pride / ego comes from but it's too much like can't you speak positively for once," he said.
Well yeah that sword could do some good if it started speaking a bit more positively but it's Tenebis Veritas it literally threw rocks and chased you. So expecting something like that from it is too much. I know he can't hear me but anyway I wanted to say that :D. I'm talking too much instead of narrating. I need to concentrate.
Aven stared at Tenebis Veritas expecting an answer. Theren stared at the knife which was still on the floor. Tenebis Veritas started laughing.
Tenebis Veritas mid laugh said:
"You are an interesting mortal. Others wouldn't even dare call my pride or ego out. You literally roast me! If you knew about my stories you probably wouldn't have done that. I probably look like a clunk of iron to you. Wait… THAT'S WHAT I LOOK LIKE TO YOU DON'T I. I thought you were joking when you were calling me a clunk of iron. Now that I think about it, you weren't joking," it said.
"Yea, I wasn't joking and I meant everything I said. What's scary about a clunk of iron? Even if I knew about your stories, could I possibly take you seriously? Hell nah, you literally chased me and threw rocks at me! How can I take a sword like you seriously, you look more cursed than legendary! I already said this but I will say it again. The only thing legendary about you is your name!" Aven replied.
I mean he's not wrong Tenebis Veritas literally looks like the most basic iron sword! You go, Aven keeps on roasting Tenebis Veritas. But wait… how did Aven start roasting stuff. I mean he was a pretty chill dude and didn't talk much so this environment did influence him huh? Okay wait why as a narrator am I starting to talk to myself. Sorry about this.
While Aven and Tenebis Veritas were arguing. Theren was still staring at that knife laying on the ground after Aven dropped it. He looked disappointed.
If one of the royal chefs were here they probably would've executed Aven for disrespecting the knife like this. Or banish him from ever touching the knife or even entering the kitchen at all, he thought.
Theren picked the knife up and placed it in its righteous place. He then cleared his throat.
"Aven stop arguing with Tenebis Veritas. Also it's better for now you don't try to enter the kitchen. Let's just stop this for now and go back to normal training. I will start by showing you how to hold a sword and maybe show you some basics," he said.
"All right Sir Theren. If you say I stop arguing with that sword I will. Sword training? Doesn't sound that bad! I think I have said this so many times now but it's probably my imagination," he said.
It's not your imagination. You have said it a few times now. But he can't hear me so yeah let's ignore that I ever tried to answer him.
Theren led him out of kitchen and into the garden and Tenebis Veritas just followed them.
Theren stood there for a second trying to find something and he walked towards a bush and pulled out two iron swords that were apparently placed by him there for training purposes.
Theren walked towards Aven and handed him the iron sword. The moment Aven took it, his arms gave out and the sword dragged Aven's body down and the tip of the sword hit the ground. Theren looked surprised.
"Nah, why is it so heavy, my arms, those poor arms they gave out the moment I tried to hold the sword. I mean couldn't they somehow have made them a bit less heavy…" he said.
"How am I supposed to train you? I have to start your training with a wooden sword. No, the wooden sword won't be that heavy. I will make sure it isn't heavy personally because I'm gonna make it," he said.
Tenebis Veritas started laughing.
"Mortal you can't lift an iron sword… I knew that the moment your hold knife for that long. Now you are going to use a wooden sword that's so funny for some reason," it said.
Aven looked annoyed and Theren just took the sword from his hand and placed it back in the bush.
"For today your training is done. You can go and rest for now. I will get your wooden sword done by tomorrow. So tomorrow we will start your basic sword training. Let me know if you want to eat anything right now and also a change of clothes and towel are already ready on your bed so first take a bath in the main bath and then change into those clothes," he said.
"Okay, Sir Theren. I would love to get a cup of coffee and maybe a proper dinner whatever you think I should eat! Thank you for today and sorry about the headache I gave you," Aven said.
I forgot to mention this but the sun had already set. Crazy right how long and yet how short whatever the training was looked like? Anyway Aven and Tenebis Veritas did argue for a bit over an hour. Oh what's happened to me why I'm talking so much to myself today.
Aven then turned around and went towards his room while Theren went towards the kitchen. Tenebis Veritas was following Aven back to his room.
The moment Aven opened the door, Tenebis Veritas quickly floated and laid down on bed. Aven ignored it, took the towel, went outside of the room and headed towards the main bath.
Aven was shocked seeing the massive bathing area. It looked like a mini swimming pool. Yeah it was that huge. Aven removed his clothes and got into the water.
5 minutes had passed and Aven was out of the main bath.
Did you expect me to narrate how Aven took a bath or something so no I won't narrate stuff like that. I mean he has privacy you know. It doesn't make sense I know a narrator who literally is narrating his life to say that but bear with it. Okay I seriously need to stop talking to myself, my bad.
Aven entered the room and got dressed. He didn't take the change of clothes with him as he forgot so he tied the towel around him and made sure no one saw him and made it to the room.
He had now changed into the new clothes and his food and a cup of coffee was already there sitting on the desk.
"Oh Sir Theren left this here already. The food looks good tho," he said.
The food had some kind of grilled meat pieces and a bit of salad with some other kind of vegetables. The coffee looked like normal coffee.
Aven pulled out the chair near the desk and put it in front of the desk and sat on it before starting to eat. He finished eating in 10 minutes and also drank his coffee while eating.
Aven just sat on the chair staring at the ceiling of his room for a bit.
He then stood up from the chair and just laid down on the bed.
"Today was so tiring. My body is in pain because I hardly do this amount of exercise or movement. I will fall asleep in no time and tomorrow's gonna be painful for sure," he said.
Aven closed his eyes and fell into deep sleep.
Tenebis Veritas still laid beside him on the bed.
What does tomorrow have in plans for Aven. Will it be in his favour? Obviously no. Will it be painful? I guess? But will it be entertaining? No idea.
