Megumi would be completely willing to admit that he was the one who was at fault for the deaths of those during the Shinjuku battle against Ryomen Sukuna.
Whether others would point at it and say it was out of his power, he didn't care; he had the opportunity to try harder, pushing through all the torture that he had endured and fought against the control of the Curse Tyrant.
So every time he brought his thoughts back to Gojo Satoru, a sharp pang in his heart formed, creating an uneasy feeling within his stomach...
But right now, he felt like he was truly being accused of something he wasn't a part of. It was completely frustrating, seeing how a misunderstanding as stupid as this could blow up into his social reputation dying out like a deflated balloon.
New world, new problems, it seems...
***
Far earlier than before...
Ch'en was going about her daily life, working the LGD office and apprehending any criminals that found themselves lurking in the city of Lungmen. But her stress levels were reaching a bottle neck at the moment.
Really, the increased crime rate was becoming more of a headache, the worst problem being that the LGD itself didn't know why it was spiking so much.
It was not only the city, but the slums that had found the increased rate happening. Whether it be petty theft, murder, or trafficking of all kinds; it was a problem that she needed to crack down onto, asap.
Imagine her surprise when a certain irritating tiger found herself passing by her as she left her office.
"Hey, Ch'en! Having a bad day today?" The lioness smirked, her tail swishing as she crossed her arms.
Ch'en let out a sigh, wanting to pinch the bridge of her nose, but she couldn't show to the other woman that she was perturbed in any way.
"I have no idea where you got that from, last time I checked, didn't one of your cars get caught up in an illegal street race? Isn't that right, Swire?" The blue haired Lung shot back, causing the other person's eyelids to twitch. Oh how satisfying it was.
"Oh? You found out so fast, even though it happened just an hour ago? My, don't I have such a devoted fan," Swire humphed as she turned her head back, narrowing her eyes at Ch'en. The signature look of superiority was all an act to hide her annoyance, but it worked effectively in irritating the other woman.
"If you want to discuss professional business instead of dilly dallying, go find someone else to spend your time with, I have other important matters to attend to," Ch'en spoke out.
"Ah, who was the one who brought up my car? Professional matters my ass," Swire huffed as she turned her head away, tail swishing along with her action.
Ch'en's eyebrows twitched, "it actually does pertain to professional matters, as it relates to the rising crime rate all across Lungmen," the woman smiled as she crossed her arms and leaned her upper body back.
The two stared at each other, brows creasing. It was as if the room around them had darkened, a trail of electricity traveling between their eyes as they continued their stare down.
The other officers in the building were already used to their antics, simply ignoring them as they attempted to crack down on the high rate of crime, suggestions being thrown around as a select few discussed with each other.
Swire's and Ch'en's mental battle was broken when heavy steps interrupted them, a tall green haired Oni with a singular stepped forward, holding a massive shield in her left hand.
From an outsider perspective, it would be absurd to see such a woman carrying a shield so casually, and many would think it was some sort of special looking foam.
However, that wasn't the case, it was crafted from some of the greatest materials that a well trained body builder would find extremely difficult to lift.
"You two, act more professional, will you?" Hoshiguma sighed, rubbing her temple.
"If this dragon bitch stopped being so stuck up and actually took a joke for once," Swire made a huffing sound as she regarded her other friend.
Ch'en wanted to say something, if her openly hanging mouth was any indicator, but she stomached it and breathed out, calming her nerves. "Did something happen, Hoshi?"
"Well, we got some unsavory activities happening in the slums-" The Oni woman began speaking, but was immediately cut off.
"I'll go then," Ch'en nodded as she stepped forward and behind her, "where is it happening exactly?"
"Ah, seriously, this workaholic behavior is gonna be the death of you," Swire sighed as she placed a hand on her hips.
"As much as you might dislike it Ch'en, Swire is right," Hoshiguma shook her head.
"...I know the slums the best out of us three, come on, it's just an extra two hours or so if I go there," Ch'en rested her hand on the handle of the sword attached to the back of her waist.
Hoshiguma stared at Swire, the latter shrugging with an exaggerated feel to it, eyes rolling as she did so.
Ch'en's tail slightly swished at the tiger's antics, but knew it would be a waste of her time to argue with her any further. Besides, there was criminal activity happening in the slums, and she needed to crack down on it fast.
"If you insist, then you'd better get some rest after," Hoshiguma turned to Ch'en once more, "It's in district 2 section 3 of the slums where some criminal ring or organization seems to have been trafficking drugs; I was able to interrogate somebody who got their hands on some of them," The Oni reached into her pocket, grabbing out a clear plastic zip bag that held the evidence, "see?"
"Mhm," Ch'en placed a hand under her chin as she tried to narrow down what criminal organizations or groups would be bringing such contraband into Lungmen, "my mind is drawing a blank, it might be a completely new group that has made their foot in here..." The Lung let out a small Lungmen profanity as she continued to walk out. "Keep Swire active alright? I've heard from officers who I will not name that she has been slacking off during work!" Not before leaving that message.
"E-eh! What? Who said that!" Swire yelled as she looked across the room, everybody's turning their sights away from her.
Hoshiguma let out another sigh, probably the millionth one today, "Swire, let's just get to work, alright?"
***
It was probably not a good idea to be exploring the slums when she was well known throughout all of Lungmen as the Head Inspector of the Lungmen Guard Department, perhaps she could have worn a better disguise that wasn't just a large black furred jacket?
It didn't matter much now, considering she was already in the slums anyway. No point in going back.
Speaking of the slums, she doubted anybody would even answer her questions, considering how distrustful of the LGD after they had failed them-
'No, I shouldn't think of that,' lingering on such thoughts was a bad idea, Ch'en berated herself. She needed to focus on her current predicament
Currently, the area that Hoshiguma had provided her was being occupied by LGD officers, dressed in their usual protective uniform given as standard. The doorway leading to the warehouse where the drugs were found had two of them stationed, most likely for her arrival.
"Ch'en, sir!" A voice of respect came out of the helmet of one of the officers, while they straightened their posture.
"At ease, officer," Ch'en said, she was used to this sort of treatment. "Guide me through and tell me what you know, don't miss a single detail.
The officer nodded as they motioned for her to come with him. The two stepped into the building, looking like it had been ransacked. Drawers were opened, broken glass was over the floor, cardboard boxes were laying everywhere, a total mess.
It was quite spacious, the gray and damp lights that bore down on it gave it a feel of any standard warehouse that stored items for companies.
What made this most suspicious though, was that it was located in the slums. Most warehouses located in the slums were abandoned or in complete disrepair, but this one felt way too clean and professional; even if it was in a mess right now.
"Any information on who they are connected to?" Ch'en scanned the area as she spoke.
"No clue, they left virtually no information except for these boxes..." The officer moved along as they reached an area of interest, "this is where the drugs were discovered..." He pointed to a taped off section being analyzed by others.
There were multiple cardboard boxes, specifically designed to look different from all the others. Compared to the standard brown of the others, this one was black with a golden colored tape wrapped over it.
"Quite a fancy look, huh?" Ch'en narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms as she stepped under the tape, the officer following her.
"Be careful, we still haven't started cleaning it up yet," the officer patted her on the back, as Ch'en looked down to see a lot of white powder still lingering on the ground. "Here, take this," the officer pulled out a handkerchief, handing it over to the dragon lady.
Ch'en accepted it, giving a, "thank you" as she moved it to cover her nose and mouth. Once she got closer to the boxes, she knelt down between two other officers as she began analyzing the boxes.
"What have you discovered so far?" Ch'en spoke out to the guards as she reached out to the boxes, but remained hesitant, tracing her fingers while hovering over them instead.
"The design is pretty fancy, as you can see, and the main ringleader around this area was a Lupo man."
"Did you question him?" Ch'en grabbed the box, turning it around with her right hand while her left still covered his nose and mouth.
"Hoshiguma did, but he didn't comply, even when more, uh, convincing methods were used."
Ch'en ignored that last remark, checking every nook and cranny of the boxes... "Not a single word on these boxes huh?"
"That's what has been stumping us so far, Ch'en sir, the only lead we have is the design of the boxes, and even then, it could just be a stretch with who we connect it with," the officer shrugged.
"Hmm..." Ch'en would have at least expected some secret code words, considering how organized this criminal group was... Actually, she hadn't confirmed that yet, "they're well organized, are they not?"
"I guess so? When our informant first found this place they said they saw the residents working diligently in keeping the boxes maintained."
"I would have expected at least some instructions on these boxes then, or at least code words..." Ch'en stopped flipping it around as she narrowed her eyes. What else could they do to hide... "Officer, have you tried flashing ultraviolet light on them?"
The man raised his eyebrow, or, Ch'en assumed he raised his eyebrow due to the tilt of his head. "No... Actually, that's a good idea," the man turned to the other officers stationed around, raising his voice, "hey! Do any of you guys have the ultraviolet flashlights?"
Shuffling sounds were heard as the other officers ruffled around their pockets, one of them pulling out the tool. "I've got it! It was found in one of the drawers here," They walked up to the taped off area as they reached their hand over it, giving it to the other officer close by their Head Inspector.
"Thanks," the officer grabbed it and turned to walk back, handing it to Ch'en.
She nodded to him, before clicking the flashlight on, making a purple light emitted from it, "let's see..." Ch'en began duly scanning every millimeter of the box again... Finding a word making itself known. "There we go," a small smile formed on her lips.
"...Well, would ya' look at that..." the officer went on his knees as he scanned the now visible text with her, "Hey, I know what this language is..."
"It's Siracusan, it seems my first theory was correct..." Ch'en felt a more grave expression form on her face as the information digested itself. 'Siracusa, huh? Are we dealing with a large mafioso or a simple gang?'
"Damn it, seems like this case just got a whole lot more complicated..." The officer beside her let out a long sigh as they placed a hand on where their forehead would be; if it wasn't covered by their black helmet.
The woman could only gravely nod with him, removing the handkerchief as she stepped out of the yellow taped off area. Ch'en stood at the center of the room as she raised her voice, "alright, get these boxes to the LGD headquarters! We need Siracusan translators with ultraviolet flashlights to have a look at these boxes, don't have them cleaned either, are we clear?"
"Yes, Ch'en sir!" A resonance of multiple voices echoed in the warehouse.
***
Who could have known those dregs from Sircusa had sunk their bloody claws into Lungmen? Ch'en honestly wasn't too surprised by the revelation, but that didn't reduce the stress that was making its way into her mind. 'Couldn't they have just kept their grubby little paws back where they belong?' If only things were that simple.
She was walking down the streets of the slums now, trying to not make herself known to the residents as she made her way to a certain area. The blue haired Lung had told the other officers that she had other business to attend to, and that they should report their findings back to the LGD headquarters, leaving the woman to her own devices.
What she actually wanted to do was...
Her steps paused, staring up at a certain building while her arms were crossed. The black furred jacket she was wearing had its hood pulled over her head while her horns stuck out in holes made at the top of it.
Ch'en pulled the hood down as she made her way to the building, opening the door as she did so.
Compared to all the other buildings outside, the infrastructure looked far cleaner than what this section of the slum could offer, even if it was up to a higher standard than other districts.
"Ch'en!"
"It's big sis Ch'en!"
Voices made themselves clear as the children in the orphanage paused what they were doing, and looked up to the woman who was taking off her jacket.
"Hey, don't get too rowdy-" Ch'en placed it over a clothes stand while speaking to them, but was cut off when they rushed to her legs and hugged it. "Hey, hey, calm down, I still gotta move around!" A flustered look came up on her face.
"You're back!"
"Please, play with us!"
"Yin has been-!"
The dragon lady sighed, mirthfully shaking her head as she closed her eyes. These children were so full of spirit despite their circumstances. Contracting oripathy at such a young age would ruin anybody's future...
Seeing so many infected children gather around her would cause any ignorant person to widen their eyes and worry about the person being surrounded, but you can't contract oripathy by being near somebody with it.
It was only when death came to those with oripathy that they led others to a chance of infection, however, the unending spurring hate of the populace increased their death rates by staggering numbers. What did this do? Cause more people to become infected, a never-ending cycle.
Her sights turned back to the kids from her thoughts.
They didn't seem to have a choice in the matter of their situation, being abandoned by their parents or their parents dying from oripathy themselves; which turned them into originium; leading them to infect the people who were around for their death.
A rough life for them to live, after all, the infected weren't welcomed in Lungmen. Despite her best efforts, Ch'en wasn't sure if she would ever create a place where both the infected and non-infected could live together in peace; one only seen in utopian fantasy stories people would write.
"Alright you rascals, settle down, where is Yin anyways?" Ch'en looked around for the fox eared girl, wondering if she were up to more of her mischievous ploys.
"Oh, oh! She's in her room right now! She was sad after not seeing you for so long!" One of the Ursus boys, Wulin, spoke up.
"Ah, alright, I'll get to her then," Ch'en patted the boy on the head, much to his satisfaction.
The two other children, a girl and another body pouted in jealousy.
"Calm down you two, I'll get to you," The blue haired Lung let out an amused breath as she moved both her hands to pat the other kids, much to their satisfaction.
The woman lifted her arms afterwards, "Alright, that's enough, I'll be checking on Yin."
Ch'en moved past them as she made her way to the backdoor, leading to the rooms where the children sleep in.
It was dark, causing Ch'en to press on the light switch on the side of the entrance door and letting the light illuminate the background.
When it did, her sights were brought to a white haired fox eared girl laying down on a bed, ears twitching at the sudden change of atmosphere.
"Huh?" The girl turned to look at the person who entered the room, and widening her eyes, "big sis Ch'en!"
"Yin-," Ch'en blinked once and the girl shot out of the bed, a blanket flying in the air while she approached her.
"It's been so long!" The girl whined as she hugged the other woman's waist. "You were gone for like, a month!"
"It was two days," Ch'en moved to pat Yin on the head, scratching behind her ears.
The Vulpo girl closed her eyes as she melted at the touch, "Uaah~," a cute sound left her lips.
"You should go play around with the other kids," Ch'e motioned with her chin, "they've been worried about you."
"Ah, okay!" The energetic girl followed along with her words as she moved past her, going to the where the others were.
Ch'en watched as Yin moved with joy, causing the Lung woman to shake her head with a small smile.
However, those thoughts were cut off as she was called, being notified of a stranger entering.
***
Ch'en moved quickly, exiting the bedroom to meet the-
She tensed up, seeing a spiky black haired man who wore what looked to be a very expensive black haori. From a glance, he could be mistaken for a Yan noble, but Ch'en was easily able to tell that they were Higashin in nature.
The stranger paused his movements from exiting the building as he turned to address her it seems.
The moment he turned to her, a great wave of malevolence blew past her face, causing her eyes to widen. A great black fog seemed to obscure the terrifying man in front of her.
His figure was the only thing that was outlined, the lights in the room seemed to have dimmed; Chi Xiao itself was echoing from its sheath. Ch'en remembered the condition for heirloom to be unleashed, in that it needs a worthy opponent to bear its fangs against, something that has rarely ever happened before. 'That could only mean...'
'What the hell is he?!' It felt like his body had been bathed in an ocean of blood, the ichor of the suffering cascading down his body; creating a great abhorrent aura...
But then came the strangest, it was surrounding him, like it was clinging onto his skin rather than emanating from it. The best way Ch'en could describe it is like bathing yourself in mud, even if it changes your scent; your body isn't actively producing and emitting the odor itself.
The children behind her had worried looks, feeling only slight discomfort in regards to the man. They couldn't sense his energy as well as Ch'en, after all, who was proficient and well versed in combat. Her senses honed and developed over the years.
"Listen, I got lost-," the strange man spoke up, but Ch'en was not going to buy into his bullshit lie.
"That's what a suspicious man would say," the woman stepped closer, eyes narrowing. Honestly, calling him suspicious was an understatement, he was more akin to a Devil, "Explain, nobody would be bothered to find this place unless they have some business to attend here." Perhaps he was a high ranked criminal from Higashi? That would explain the expensive clothes, malevolent aura, and his purpose for visiting an orphanage in the slums.
Ch'en was trying her best not to straight up attack him, only because of the fact that the aura was surrounding him, not emitting. If it had been the latter....
"Seriously..." The man pinched the bridge of his nose,
"Big sis-" A voice from Yin came behind, causing Ch'en's protective instincts to flare up.
"Don't approach him!" The dragon lady moved in front of her, placing a hand on Chi Xiao's hilt.
The black haired... 'no, what is his race? Aegir?' Ch'en couldn't see any animal features on him, which was strange. Unless it was hidden well under his tussle of hair or some other parts of his body; she'd assume he was an Aegir... For now.'
The man shifted uncomfortably
While her right hand was on the handle of her blade, her left moved to pull out a wallet with a badge in it. "Head Inspector Ch'en Hui-chieh of the Lungmen Guard Department Special Investigation Unit, please come with me-"
"Y-you're a police officer?" The black haired man looked surprised, a morbid feeling welling up in his chest.
Ch'en paused as she raised an eyebrow, 'how does he not know me?' Any criminal that sets their sights on Lungmen would know the young prodigy who made their way up the LGD ranks through sheer talent and effort alone, and crushed the rate of crime for over nearly a decade now. Unless he...
Her thoughts were cut off when he slammed himself on the door, twisting the knob in a swift motion as he ran out of the building.
"You- Stop!" Ch'en rushed out of the building, attempting to catch up to him. She put more effort in her legs, feeling them break away from the tenseness they were in before. The woman turned into a blue blur as she made her way in the destruction he ran in
However, her steps were paused when a black puddle- no, a black lagoon made itself known under her feet, causing her to lose her balance. "Shit!"
Shifting her weight once more, she got her right foot out of the lagoon, using her left leg to spring herself upwards.
Taking in a deep breath, she heeded Chi Xiao's calls for the first time, feeling its power enter her.
The black haired man was farther away now and on top of a building. Ch'en looked up and caught sight of his black haori flowing in the wind behind his body. He turned to glance back at the woman for a brief second...
Only to be met with a red shockwave coming his way.

Megumi's eyes widened the moment he looked back, feeling an intense wave of power coming towards him. 'Damn it!'
This wasn't anything like cursed energy, a form of power far different from it. In order to avoid it, he needed to think fast.
Normally, he might have had a chance to avoid the attack at peak physical condition, but right now he still felt his soul and physical body aching from the previous blows of Itadori Yuji.
'I haven't used this yet... no, why am I...?' Megumi could feel something compel him to reach for a certain Cursed Tool in his shadow. 'It's broken, so why is my body...?' As if denying his body of any logical decision making, his hand reached
A large dagger, wrapped in a strange black cloth at the blade and a chain at the end of its hilt came out, prompting Megumi to swiftly undo the cloth that covered the part he needed to utilize.
It was perplexing, and it hadn't made sense to him. Why was this weapon, the one that nearly took the life of the Honored One, in a repaired state?
The Inverted Spear of Heaven should have been already been shattered when he received it!
***
"Megumi," Principal Yaga spoke out, causing the student to halt in his steps as he turned to him.
"Principal Yaga? What is it?" Megumi raised an eyebrow as the other man held a rather serious look on his face. Now that he thought about it, when was the last time he hadn't held such an expression?
"Please, follow me, I have something to show you. It's in regards to Gojo Satoru," he brought his hand forward and motioned his index finger towards his body.
The two began walking in silence, taking turns across Jujutsu College as they did so, a strange feeling came to Megumi.
"Are we traversing a barrier right now?" He sensed an abnormality forming every time they turned a corner.
"Keen senses, that is exactly so," while they continued onwards, Principal Yaga complimented him. "There is a barrier in place in this exact area, only specific turns that we make from each corner of the buildings will get us to where we want to be."
"I see..?" Megumi was even more confused now, how could this relate to his sensei? Especially since he was sealed off the Prison Realm and placed somewhere at the current moment.
"Here we are."
Megumi turned upwards, staring at an ominous door, one that leaked an immense amount of Cursed Energy. Many talismans lined it, and Principal Yaga placed his hand on it.
The young adult watched in silence, placing his hands in his pocket as he watched the door open.
"Let's go," with the Principal's words, the two of them stepped in the room.
It was dark, barely illuminated by a candle in the middle of the medium sized room. A box laid on the table in front of the candle, casting an unnatural light on it.
"Is there a Cursed Tool in there?" Megumi felt a strange aura emitting from the box.
"Gojo Satoru entrusted me in giving this to you. The barrier he placed over this area completely overpowers Tengen's own, leaving it out of his sight," Principal Yaga moved forward and grabbed the box, pausing as he closed his eyes in concentration.
'A safety measure, huh?" Megumi watched with great focus as he analyzed what the other man was doing.
After about five minutes, a soft clicking sound was heard.
"There we go," with a sweat forming on his forehead and a huff, he swiped his hand to get rid of the built up moisture. Principal Yaga then picked up the box, slightly opening it as he presented it to the student. "Take a look at it."
Megumi grabbed it with both hands, his left holding on the lid while his right hand held on the bottom portion. Slowly, he opened it...
To be presented with a weirdly shaped handle without an edge, wrapped in a black cloth and a hilt with a short chain at the end of its handle. "This is..?" The sight... really confused him.
"The Inverted Spear of Heaven, he wanted to give this to you," Principal Yaga said. "Apologies, but the blade is broken, it's useless now."
"What..?" A breath left Megumi's mouth as he picked it up and analyzed it, "but I thought it was destroyed? Is it still even functional?" He remembered the words from Tengen.
"He either sealed or destroyed it, turns out it was all of the above, but... in regards to the blade, it might still be recoverable. We don't particularly know," Principal Yaga crossed his arms, "Gojo Satoru told me he wanted to give this to you, and I believe now is the right time. But, it might not be what you want seeing its condition."
"But why? This was the weapon that almost killed him, wasn't it? Besides, it's useless now that its... main function no longer works with its broken blade." Megumi had a conflicted look on his face, "Even then, it would be far better for Maki to use it."
"Zen'in Maki already has the Split-Soul Katana, and like I said before, Gojo trusts you with finding a way to repair it. He's just been stalling his birthday gifts as he usually does," Principal Yaga moved to place his hand on Megumi's shoulder, ignoring the part that he was its previous wielder's son, "If you want to temporarily hand her the chain attached in the midst of combat, just do so. It belongs to you now, the chain can still be useful even if the main weapon is broken."
"...And what is this black cloth for??" As the hand left his shoulder, Megumi analyzed it while scratching the back of his head.
"See that black cloth? It blocks the blade of the Inverted Spear, the part that cancels out techniques. As long as it covers the blade, you can place it in your shadow. However, with what had happened with it... my apologies," Principal Yaga stood at the doorway, waiting for the boy to make his exit. "Also, we already have another Cursed Tool being repaired right now, it would be good if you could carry this one to Maki."
"I see..." Megumi nodded as he closed his eyes, walking towards his Principal. 'I'll honor this trust then... And perhaps, I can find a way to repair it!' A fire burned in the young adult's eyes...
.
.
.

.
...It was unfortunate that his body had been overtaken by the King of Curses before he could ever find a method of repairing it.
Wasn't Fate just so cruel?
***
The vicious red energy slammed against Megumi's Cursed Tool as he gritted his teeth, bearing the weight of the attack as he pressed forward.
'It's working?!' A small manic smile couldn't help but adorn his face, a great excitement filling his veins as its effect worked on non-cursed energy based attacks. 'Since when?! I thought the blade was destroyed...!'
The building beneath his feet started to collapse, specifically only the roof section, the red attack pulsating as it dyed the sky above it in its own color.
"Agh!" Megumi let out a scream as his arms gave in on him, but thankfully, the attack had dissipated before he could be severely damaged by it. 'What kind of police officer is this...?!' An exasperated breath left him, leaving him a panting mess.
He quickly wrapped the black cloth over the blade of the weapon once more. Megumi needed to do it fast, since the man could feel his enemy approaching closer. 'Damn it, there she is...'
Ch'en landed a few meters in front of him, pointing a red blade towards Megumi, he felt intimidated by the immense energy radiating from it.
"Surrender, you are now under arrest for not complying with LGD orders," Ch'en glared at the man, having a slight clue why Chi Xiao was begging to draw the blood of the man in front of her now.
"Ah really..." Megumi dropped the Inverted Spear of Heaven into his shadow, much to the surprise of the woman. The Lung had almost swung her weapon, but stopped as he slowly raised his arm in surrender, "ugh... yeah, yeah, I give up..."
Perhaps it was a lapse in judgement from the other person, but the words caused the woman to slightly relax...
Until he clasped his hand together into a rabbit shadow puppet.
"Rabbit Escape!"
A small pond surrounded the two, Ch'en backing off as thousands of rabbits made their way out of the black portal, causing the woman to look upon it in confusion.
"The hell?!" She brought her weapon to her side as they came closer, swinging it in a wide arc as it cleaved their combined mass in half, dispelling nearly all of them in one motion.
The rabbits all turned into shadows, obscuring her view as she shielded her face with her arms, expecting an explosion to occur But nothing like that had happened, giving her a reason to lower them to frantically look around.
"Where the hell did he go?" She gritted her teeth, running around the rooftop as she searched every nook and cranny with her hawk-like eyes. "Damn it!"
The man radiating the oppressive aura was now gone.
***
Megumi lurked in the shadows as he clenched his bruised arms, but didn't react much to it other than that. He had been through far worse.
'How... so... this world has the supernatural, no different from Jujutsu Society?' He continued to lurch through the burning pain of his arms and overall body, 'my standing here... is also ruined, the law is most likely after me, isn't it? That much is already a given. Hah~ I want to curse...'
Megumi was already starting to despise his damned isekai.
'There's also the question of... how was the Inverted Spear of Heaven repaired?' The black-haired man looked upwards, his eyes narrowing in both exhaustion and confusion, 'is it... also how I'm still alive despite being sent here...? I should have taken more damage, anyways, a walking... corpse... ugh!' He retched, the pain ever growing.
But still, he needed to keep moving forward, only if to heed the words of his one and only.

A/N: Non-canon part here, Principal Yaga dies later on than canon.
How was ISoH repaired? Ngl, this part was changed from the original after I got to 50 chapters, and all I have to say is some isekai magic.
The same reason why Megumi is still alive even though he was supposed to be dead in this story's timeline.
