The lock clicked behind me, muffling the city noise outside. I leaned against the door for a moment, trying to steady my breath. The apartment felt different somehow. Too still, too small, too lonely, especially after a weekend in our forever home.

Ravić was already moving through the space with practiced ease, unbuttoning his coat and heading straight for the fridge. The city lights caught the sharp edges of his profile as he poured two glasses out of the bottle. The dark liquid glinting underneath the amber glow of the light. 

"Here," he said, offering one to me. His voice was calm. Too calm. 

I walked over, unbuttoning my coat and draped it over the couch before settling on the stool across from him. I took it, drank a few sips and placed it back down with a clink. 

"You knew something," I said quietly. "About Nina."

He stilled, hand hovering over his drink. Then slowly, he turned to face me. His red eyes unreadable in the half-light.
