Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Cooperation Treaty

As the discussion continued, Jaxon slowly stood up, walking confidently to the center of the room. His gaze met Hyuga Tokuma's squarely.

"What we need to do," he said in a clear and steady voice, "is monopolize."

The hall fell silent.

Jaxon pointed directly at Tokuma as he continued, "Your Hyuga Clan's Byakugan—a remarkable tool, a powerful 'bug,' if I may say so—yet you don't even use it to its full potential. All you ever think about is combat. Why are you ninja always so obsessed with fighting?"

The words struck a nerve.

"The Byakugan can be used for more than war. From now on, your Hyuga Clan will provide Byakugan users to detect and locate mineral veins. My Jaxon Family will fund the extraction, refinement, and sale. We'll buy every mineral, every resource, and together we'll corner the entire mineral market of the ninja world."

Tokuma's eyes narrowed slightly.

"What an ambitious scheme," he murmured. He couldn't help but feel slightly humiliated. Jaxon had essentially told him that the clan had been squandering one of its greatest natural advantages.

Indeed—the Byakugan could see through objects and terrain. Why had no one ever thought to use it for resource exploration?

A few clan members stirred at the thought, their expressions subtly changing. Ideas were forming. Possibilities that had never been explored were suddenly within reach.

Tokuma noticed their reactions, and his frown deepened.

If Jaxon had already identified such opportunities, why did he even need their cooperation?

"You Hyuga can't handle this goldmine alone," Jaxon stated bluntly. "So, which model of cooperation do you prefer?"

Tokuma hesitated.

Rather than respond directly, he smiled and stood from his seat. "Let's not rush this decision. It's already quite late. I've prepared a rare dinner for today. Why don't we eat first?"

At that moment, the light drizzle that had greeted Jaxon's arrival had transformed into a full-on downpour. Distant thunder echoed across the sky, and a refreshing breeze filled the hall.

The tense atmosphere began to ease.

This negotiation had gone far smoother than Jaxon anticipated. It turned out the Hyuga Clan was also facing financial strain.

From their point of view, the deal was all reward and no risk.

The fact that their clan head was willing to treat even a child with this much respect showed just how seriously they were taking Jaxon—and his proposal.

---

Dinner was quick.

Everyone, including the elders, ate rapidly and without much conversation. It was clear that the food, no matter how rare or exquisite, couldn't compare to the weight of the business at hand.

Once the plates were cleared, they returned to a long table at the center of the hall.

On one side sat Hyuga Tokuma. On the other sat Jaxon.

Two figures—one an old, seasoned patriarch, the other a young but cunning entrepreneur—locked eyes.

Before them, a pair of formal contracts lay on the table, neatly prepared and ready to be signed.

"Brat," Tokuma said with a grunt, "our Hyuga Clan is willing to provide five additional Elite Jonin. But in return, our share must be increased by at least 5%!"

Jaxon raised an eyebrow. "Old man, what are you thinking? That's completely unreasonable!"

And so began a fierce negotiation that stretched over the next thirty minutes.

Back and forth they went, arguing like two stubborn merchants at a market stall. There was none of the usual elegance or calm associated with the Hyuga Clan. Even Tokuma's children stared in disbelief—never before had they seen their father argue like this.

After the earlier slap, however, neither Hiashi nor his brother dared say a word. They sat still and silent, watching their father haggle like a street vendor.

The elders looked away awkwardly. Some rubbed their temples. Others tried to pretend they weren't witnessing this at all.

In the end, a resolution was reached.

The Hyuga Clan would send five Elite Jonin, and each of them would lead ten Chunin, forming ten specialized teams. These teams would be deployed to ten different cities across the Land of Fire, with the sole task of using the Byakugan to locate valuable mineral deposits.

In return, the Hyuga Clan would receive a 12% equity share in the mining operation. But it wouldn't stop there. They also agreed to utilize their already established commercial networks to provide sales and distribution channels.

It was a win-win—on the surface.

---

The agreement itself was simple—just a single sheet of paper containing concise but powerful clauses that defined their cooperation.

To the Hyuga Clan, this was passive income.

To Jaxon, it was something much bigger: maximum gain with minimal cost.

The Byakugan could see through objects and structures with incredible precision. While it couldn't see everything indefinitely, it offered a powerful advantage: advanced scanning for mineral veins deep beneath the surface.

If leveraged properly, it wouldn't take long before Jaxon had exclusive access to every valuable mining site across the continent.

He glanced at Tokuma, whose mouth was still running like an automatic gun, going over the finer details again and again.

But Jaxon's mind was elsewhere.

He was already thinking about the future. About the dominoes he had just set in motion.

This world's technological progression was completely imbalanced. Basic scientific knowledge was lacking in many areas—yet characters like Orochimaru had somehow advanced biotechnology to absurd heights.

With the right knowledge and resources, Jaxon could shape the entire future.

He looked down at the signed treaty in his hand, the ink still drying.

System Notification: Replication Progress – 0.05%

His eyes lit up.

Just the Hyuga Clan alone had brought such a massive system gain?

For comparison, the Ichiraku Ramen shop—considered iconic in the original story—had only earned him a measly 0.0003%.

This meant one thing: influencing the major clans and ninja systems yielded far greater rewards.

Not every change to the story gave him big gains, but this path was clearly the most efficient.

He couldn't help but wonder—what kind of ability would unlock once his system reached 5%?

What kind of power would he hold in his hands then?

---

"Jaxon… Jaxon…"

A voice called out, snapping him out of his thoughts.

He blinked, looking around the room.

Hyuga Tokuma was staring at him, along with several other clan members who wore curious and slightly amused expressions.

"What's wrong?" Jaxon asked casually.

"You suddenly went quiet for a while," Tokuma said. "We thought something might be wrong."

Jaxon gave a small laugh. "No, nothing at all. I was just... lost in thought for a moment."

Tokuma nodded. "Very well. Since the agreement is finalized, when would you like to begin?"

"Right away," Jaxon replied without hesitation. "What we need to do is quite straightforward, and the Hyuga Clan's responsibilities are already outlined clearly in the treaty."

He leaned forward, resting his chin on his right hand as he spoke in a measured tone.

"You'll organize ten teams, one for each of the major cities in the Land of Fire. They'll begin scanning the surrounding regions immediately. Once a location is verified and marked, my side will handle everything from extraction to processing to distribution."

Everyone nodded, already mentally preparing logistics.

Jaxon added, "I know this may be difficult at first. But once we've mapped a few cities and locked down some high-value mineral veins, everything else will follow in a structured, scalable process."

He looked around the room, reading the reactions.

The Hyuga Clan had over 2,000 ninja. While the number of active Chunin wasn't enormous, they still had several hundred—more than enough to allocate 100 without impacting the clan's core operations.

Their number of Jonin was lower, of course, but still far superior to any clan except perhaps the Uchiha.

And now, with their abilities and Jaxon's resources combined, a new force was quietly rising in the shadows of the world.
