Chapter 55 - EMPTY RESPONSES

Atlas stepped out of the car first, and swerved past his mother who was trying to hug him.

He walked straight to the passenger's seat, and opened the door for Theo.

"You good bro?" He asked.

Theo, who was fetching their phones from the compartment, looked up at him. "Don't be weird, bro. I told you it was just the glass shattering. I'm good."

"Wait a second, why's your rearview mirror glass shattered, Atlas?" Nadia asked, hurrying beside him.

She grabbed his shirt, and turned him to face her. "Are you okay? Did something happen to you? Please tell me you're fine." Her eyes travelled all around him, panic heavy in her gaze.

"I'm fine mum. Stop acting weird and step away," he leaned in and whispered to her. "Please."

Nadia didn't move immediately. She took her time inspecting her son for any bruises.

When she didn't find any, she finally relaxed, and took a step back.

Atlas let out a sigh. "Are you sure you're good?" He moved for Theo to alight.

"I said I'm fine, okay?"
