"You make sure you keep an eye out on the bitch, Scorpion! We've got another operation already," he grinned toothily. "If you ask me, I think the girl is some sort of good luck charm. Two jobs in the space of two days? That's bank!" He laughed in his usual hynea-like way, before trodding out of the room.
Seth watched through the windows as the other guys jumped into the truck, leaving behind just him and one other guy who was guarding the gates.
He waited patiently until they had disappeared out of sight, before he marched straight to Aveline's room.
"Get up," he said as he opened the locks with the keys.
Aveline who had grown quiet some time after midnight, after screaming over and over again to be let out, spent the rest of the night just staring into space.
For the first time since she felt the first streak of the morning light rest on her skin, she looked away from the one spot she had been staring at.
"Seth?" She called out in a weak, dry voice.
