The surprise continued for Aveline as Atlas swept her off her feet into his arms, and carried her all the way out.
He didn't pass through the room everyone was gathered in like she expected.
Extending the surprise a little more, he followed through a path no one would stop to ask unnecessary questions, and burst out in the open.
Aveline's mouth remained agape as he carried her all the way to the car.
The driver jumped out on spotting Atlas, and quickly opened the back door for him to drop Aveline.
Atlas circled the car to the other door, through which he slid into the car.
"How do you feel? Do you feel sick?" He asked, running a hand across her face.
Aveline held his wrist, and slowly pulled it out of her face.
"Aveline?" He called, confused on why she wasn't responding.
Before she could control herself, she lifted both hands and cupped his face into them. "Thank you," she said.
His brow lifted. "For what?" His face twisted in confusion.
"For choosing me," she blurted.
