Aveline licked her lips. Her eyes illuminated every second that passed with her watching him.
But just as he moved to turn towards her, she took a retreating step back, and scurried to her room.
She shut the door behind her, and grabbed her thumping heart.
Her back slid down the door, dropping to the ground.
Spreading her legs forward, she exhaled.
"What are you doing, Aveline?" She questioned internally.
Although, not too long after, her lips spread into a grin.
She searched for that hint of hurt she usually felt every time she remembered the betrayal that had pushed her into Atlas' crazy world.
It wasn't there this time. She felt complete relief.
"Finally," she thought, as she sprawled on the ground, and closed her eyes.
Aveline woke up with a start the next morning.
She tried to roll on the bed, but just kept going.
"What the heck?!" She was screaming in her head when her body slammed into the sturdy furniture.
"Ouch!" She screamed out.
