Aveline began to lower her body downward.
"What are you doing?" Atlas asked.
"The ankle monitor. I've never seen one before in person. I want to know what it's like," she replied, touching it.
He chuckled, glad she had not lost her strangeness.
"It's very restrictive isn't it?"
"Yeah, depending on what you want to do."
"Taking a bath?"
"Definitely."
"Even walking should be a problem too. Rigorous activities like working out. That must suck." She straightened up.
"It's not extremely restrictive though. I think I can do a lot despite it." He held her gaze.
Something in the tone of his voice told her they weren't just talking about ankle monitors anymore. Still, she pushed.
"Like?"
"You know—"
"No, I don't." She moved her face away to hide her flushed cheeks.
Atlas chuckled. He couldn't believe he was thinking about sex when his life had gone to shit.
