After freshening up, the students were taken to the academy's assembly grounds
The assembly grounds were a large, open hall with a high ceiling, filled with rows of students standing at attention. The crowd of students was a sea of faces, all dressed in their uniforms, their eyes fixed on the tall man standing at the front.
"Welcome, students," he began, his voice firm and authoritative. "I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday. Today, you would be taken to your new classes."
As he spoke, the students were packed tightly together, their shoulders almost touching, as they strained to hear every word the tall man said. The air was thick with the murmur of whispers and the rustle of documents being distributed by the teachers to the children.
The document contained the information of the students likely their age, height, name and so much more. "The classes are grouped into six," the man continued. "Archery— sniping and marksmanship, Toxic warfare and toxicology techniques, manipulation, surveillance, and infiltration, advanced tactics and strategies for eliminating targets, martial art and combat, weapons, gladiator and swordsmanship. Each class would hold a number of one hundred students, divided into different systems of ranking."
"Your identity in this academy is ranked into different levels," he explained. "S class level, A class level, C class level, D class level, and lastly E class level, the lowest tier level in the academy. Each level determines the status of each student in this school, with the S leveler receiving more privileges than the E class leveler."
"The privileges could include better accommodation, bathroom and cafeteria experience, better clothing, and treatment from the authorities," he added. "As you level up, your status increases."
As he ended, the students had faces of eagerness, excited to climb the ranks and achieve the highest level possible. Wren's eyes scanned the document, trying to make sense of the different classes and levels. She wondered which class she would be in and what level she would achieve. The thought of being in the S class level seemed appealing, but she knew it wouldn't be easy to achieve.
The students were all abuzz with excitement and anticipation, eager to start their classes and begin their journey in the academy. Wren and Ashley stood among them, their faces expressionless, but their eyes betraying their curiosity and concern. They exchanged a glance, and Wren could sense Ashley's unease.
Wren looked around her sorrounding spotting teachers in the background. Some of the teachers stood with their arms crossed, their faces stern and unyielding, while others leaned against the walls, their eyes narrowed as they watched the students. The teachers' uniforms were immaculate, their badges and insignia gleaming in the light.
The tall man's expressionless face gazed out at the students, his eyes seeming to bore into their very souls. "You are dismissed," he said finally, his voice firm. "Go to your classes and begin your journey." With that, the students began to disperse, each one eager to discover their fate in the academy.
..
Ashley and Wren said their goodbyes to each other before setting off to their different classes. Apparently, Wren got the sniping class, while Ashley was in the martial combat class. When Wren arrived at her class, The classroom looked sort of an ancient arena which was a vast, open space with walls made of weathered stone that rose high above, adorned with intricate carvings that told stories of battles long past. The air was thick with the scent of aged wood and gunpowder. The arena was surrounded by tiered seating, each level lined with sleek, modern observation decks. The seats were empty, but they seemed to be waiting for the roar of the crowd as students competed in challenges.
The floor of the arena was a large, open space, marked with various targets and obstacles. In the center of the arena, a tower stood tall, its walls adorned with rows of guns and rifles, each one gleaming in the light. The tower seemed to be a combination of ancient stonework and modern steel, a testament to the academy's blend of old and new.
.
Students stood at one side in rows, depending on their room blocks and status. Heading to the 2 block line, Wren caught a glimpse of two familiar figures. One was Kai Blackwood, and the other was the red fiery girl. Wren's eyes narrowed slightly as she took in the familiar faces.
The teacher stood at the front of the class, a tall, imposing figure with a stern expression. "Now that we are all in..." he began, and the sound of a metal gate hitting the ground could be heard from behind. A metal gate stood at the back of the arena, with a clock-like machine on top that displayed a number one hundred in digital format. The gate seemed to be made of modern steel, and it looked sturdy enough to withstand heavy use.
.
"We would begin our lesson," the teacher finished, bringing out a tablet. "But before that, each of you would be divided into a group of five, with twenty members in each group. On your database, your group and ranking would be shown."A system menu was displayed before the students, showing their group and ranking. The menu was sleek and modern, with a digital interface that seemed to be easy to navigate. The system displayed the rules and regulations of the academy, including the points system and the consequences of not disobeying it's commands.
On Wren's system, she saw that she was in group 5, and her status was an E level. The teacher continued, "Each group would be tasked with activities that are compulsory to finish. Each task handled perfectly would add a point to the group status, leveling up each student."
"The lowest group at the end of the year would be thrown into the science department as test subjects," he warned, his voice firm. "With each mission completed, points awarded would be used to purchase basic necessities in the academy, as things from next month would not be free anymore and would have to be accessed by points."
"Also, with each mission unable to be completed, points would be deducted from each student's account, depending on how enormous the task was," he added, his eyes scanning the room. Silence enveloped the classroom as the students digested the information.
"Group leaders are assigned by the members, and the academy wouldn't have a hand in it," the teacher continued. "But a group without a leader before the end of the week would undergo severe punishment, the least would be deduction of points."
A notification popped up on the screen of the system menu, announcing that a total of 500 points were awarded to every student as a welcome gift. The notification seemed to be a digital message, displayed in a clear and easy-to-read format. The teacher announced. "Points can also be awarded personally to students for taking on side tasks outside class, but the points earned from the side tasks would not be given to the group, nor would it increase your stats and level you up."
The students looked at each other, some excited, others anxious. Wren's eyes were fixed on the system,The points system seemed to be a key part of the academy's curriculum, with points awarded for completing tasks and deducted for failing to do so. The points could be used to purchase basic necessities in the academy, and students were warned that things would not be free anymore from next month, her mind racing with the implications of the rules. She knew she had to work hard to level up and avoid being thrown into the science department. The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
