Jihyun sat on the chair, his face drenched with tears.
His chest hurt with every sob as he clutched tightly at his heart.
"Taewon… I know I did everything badly to you back then. I know I hurt you,"
He cried, voice breaking.
"But can't you be a little soft on me?
I lost everything my parents, my power… I have nothing left. I even lost you in my madness. I got hurt from people I never thought would hurt me. How can you not feel even a little pity for me?
I'm human too. I get hurt too. But no one understands me everyone just thinks I'm bad."
Tears fell endlessly as he wiped them away with shaking hands.
"I thought you understood me. But now why can't you?
I did everything thinking it would be good how could I have known the future?
Why can't you see that?
Everyone looks down on me just because I'm an omega. Why can't they think I'm also human? Yes, I'm insecure, but you"
A knock at the door cut him off.
Startled, Jihyun quickly rubbed his swollen eyes with his sleeves before opening it.
It was Taewon.
The very next second, Jihyun was pulled into his arms.
Taewon hugged him so tightly it felt like he was afraid of losing him again.
Jihyun's body went weak in his embrace, sobs bursting out like a child's. His cries shook against Taewon's chest as Taewon rubbed his back firmly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it,"
Taewon whispered, guilt burning in his chest. For the first time in years, regret stung him for the words he had thrown.
"I… I was just stupid back then,"
Jihyun wept harder, voice cracking.
"But why don't you understand? I'm human too. I feel hurt too. All people do is let me go instead of stopping me."
Taewon pressed his forehead against Jihyun's shoulder, his grip around his waist tightening.
All he could feel was bone, fragile, weak. The realization terrified him.
Slowly, he straightened, his voice heavy.
"I know there's nothing left between us. But still, I'm sorry for hurting you just now.
Jihyun, I understand your pain no matter how you acted back then. I always saw the emptiness inside you.
Jihyun I left you long ago. The way I used to think about you, I buried it. I moved forward. But still you're with me everywhere. The more I run, the more you return to me."
His voice wavered.
"But it's not possible for us to be together again.
Still, as long as you're here you can rely on me. I'll help you. I'll try to understand you better."
Jihyun stepped closer, resting his head against Taewon's chest, tears sliding down silently.
"But I want you back,"
He whispered.
"I only want you. I went far away, thinking you didn't matter to me, but you do.
Since I left, I've never slept comfortably. You haunt me every night. How am I supposed to live relaxed? Comfortable?"
Taewon looked down into Jihyun's swollen, red eyes still shining through tears.
"I didn't want to let you go. But the scar you left on my heart it's still there. It still hurts. That's why I never let anyone close to me, even after you left."
"I know…" Jihyun sobbed harder.
"I know it was hard. I remember the day you begged outside the court. I turned away. But Taewon I know you won't,
if I beg you now… can you give me a chance? I'll prove myself. I'll win you over. I'll change every part of me for you. But you'll have to be mine."
Taewon stayed silent, his heart torn. At last, he asked quietly,
"But what if you fail? If I don't accept will you let me go? Won't you hate me? Won't you be hurt?"
"Give me a chance,"
Jihyun pleaded, tears dripping.
Taewon closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them with a sharp warning.
"This is the last time, Jihyun. Don't repeat your mistakes. If you do not only me, but you won't get anyone again."
Jihyun nodded quickly, smiling weakly through his tears.
"I won't. From tomorrow I'll try."
Taewon stepped back, his eyes lingering before turning away.
"Take your medicine. I'm going now."
Jihyun wiped his face, his smile trembling.
"From tomorrow I'll really try."
Taewon gave a short nod and left the apartment.
Jihyun stood frozen, watching the door close, his body trembling yet his heart burning with fragile hope.
