Chapter 46 - CH 46

Silence had fallen.

Fury had stepped between Naruto et Hill. He wasn't shouting — he didn't need to. His tone, his stance, and above all, that name he had invoked — Howard Stark — had been enough to freeze the entire scene.

Maria Hill couldn't believe it.

"You're telling me this boy… was part of a Stark project? That's absurd. He has no genetic records. No entries in any archive."

"Exactly," Fury replied. "That's what proves he is what he says he is."

Fury turned to Naruto, his voice carrying quiet respect.

"Your arrival here… wasn't an accident. Fifty-seven years ago, Howard Stark left me an archive. A series of notes, sealed under encryption that only I — or his son — could unlock."

He looked at Tony.

"I opened that vault two weeks ago."

Tony frowned.

"Why now?"

"Because it contained a warning. A 'Convergence Protocol' — a message predicting the appearance of an untraceable individual, carrying a living energy that matches nothing known."

Fury turned back to Hill.

"You wanted proof that Naruto is dangerous. I have proof… that he's destined."

Fury reached into his coat. He pulled out a black tablet. Offline. Unconnected. Entirely analog.

"Stark. Pym. Carter… and a fourth redacted name. They all knew that one day, a breach would open. That humanity would cross paths with forces beyond its laws."

He pointed at Naruto.

"This man, this energy, this 'anomaly' as you call it… was foreseen. Because he is the key. Howard called him: The Non-Linear Guardian. A force capable of defying timelines, dimensional rifts… and human error."

Hill stepped back.

"You expect me to believe in a prophecy? In some myth scribbled in a Cold War notebook?"

Fury folded his arms.

"No. I'm asking you to understand… you were never the centerpiece in this game."

He leaned in.

"You thought you could neutralize Naruto. But your mistake isn't tactical. It's moral. You forgot this world doesn't belong to us. And sometimes… we have to trust what we can't control."

Tony took the tablet and entered a biometric code. An archive opened: an old audio note, degraded by time.

> "If you're hearing this, Tony… then the time has come. One day, you'll see a man appear. He won't come from any government. Or any sky you know. But he'll carry a fire even I don't understand."

> "Protect him. He won't be alone. But he'll need a compass. Someone who can believe… in something greater than himself. I hope that someone is you." — Howard Stark

Tony stood frozen, jaw tight.

"My father… believed in you. Before he ever told me about the suits."

Naruto stepped closer, visibly moved.

"I don't know why. Or how. But I think… somehow, he saw me."

Hill clenched her jaw. The balance had shifted.

"And now what? You remove me? Force me into silence?"

Fury sighed. Tired. Unrelenting.

"No. I'm letting you choose. You can continue this crusade… alone. Or you can stay in the circle. But you lay down your weapons. Step away from this operation. And apologize."

"To whom?" she spat.

"To him," Fury said. "And to her. And to me."

Hill turned to Natasha. The Black Widow's gaze was ice.

"You left me behind. You betrayed me. And you tried to neutralize someone… I love."

Maria lowered her eyes. Then slowly removed her badge and her weapon. She held them out.

"I'm stepping down from the operation."

Fury signaled to a man in the rear. Two plainclothes agents approached.

"She's under direct supervision. No imprisonment. But suspended until further notice. The World Council will be briefed within the hour."

Hill stood tall, following them without protest — but without remorse either.

She gave Naruto one last look.

"You think you've won. But the world doesn't run on prophecies. One day… you'll answer for this."

Naruto answered without raising his voice.

"That day, I won't need to prove I'm human. I'll have lived it."

The plateau slowly emptied. The remaining agents pulled back. Systems were shut down.

Fury remained with Naruto, Natasha, and Tony.

"The Council will want answers. And assurances," he said.

"I'll give them," Naruto replied. "Not with weapons. With actions."

"Then prepare yourself. Because this world… it's going to either choose you. Or reject you."

He turned to Tony.

"And you. You've got work to do. You wanted to know who your father really was? You just got half the answer. The rest… is what you'll do with that legacy."

Tony nodded slowly.

"I think… it's time I built something other than weapons."

As the sun finally rose over Arizona, Naruto looked toward the horizon.

Kurama whispered in his mind:

> "You just opened a door. Now you need to decide… if you're ready to walk through it."

Naruto clasped Natasha's hand. Then Tony's.

"We walk through it together."
