Cassian actively try to learn spells. Most of his mastery progress comes from his own effort and practice. He has to start from scratch, just like a first-year student, learning everything from the very beginning. That is why there is some delay in his spell progression.
On top of that, he also needs to catch up on magical history and theory in order to fulfill his role as a teacher.

Type: Base Spell
Description: Summons or controls living, vine-like magical growth from the surrounding environment to entangle, bind, or disarm a target. The magic responds to motion and intent, prioritizing restraint over direct harm, though excessive resistance can cause crushing or immobilizing force.
Mastery: High
Unlocked: Ch 157
Learned Ancient Variants
Sylvanima (Ancient Form): Awakened as the ancient variant of Expelliarmus.
Note: Cassian harbors significant doubts about this classification. The spell's structure, intent-responsiveness, and semi-sentient growth patterns suggest a fundamentally different magical lineage, possibly druidic or pre-wand in origin, rather than a true derivative of Expelliarmus.
Patronus Charm (Expecto Patronum)
Type: Base Spell
Description: Conjures a corporeal or non-corporeal manifestation of positive emotion, known as a Patronus, to repel Dementors and other despair-feeding entities. The spell draws power from focused hope, memory, and identity; instability of emotion can cause failure or collapse of the Patronus.

Unlocked: Ch 166
Full-Body Bind Curse (Perfectuc Totalus)
Type: Base Spell
Description: Locks the target's body into complete muscular rigidity, immobilizing them instantly while leaving consciousness intact. The effect relies on overwhelming the target's nervous and motor channels simultaneously; resistance increases with physical resilience, magical reinforcement, or altered physiology.
Mastery: MAX
Unlocked: Ch 174
Learned Ancient Variants
Corpus Obstrictus: An ancient petrification refinement that forces the stoning process through sustained magical pressure.
Note: Corpus Obstrictus is significantly more taxing than Perfectuc Totalus. When used against semi-resistant targets, the spell demands continuous exertion from the caster. During Ch 174, Cassian's use of Corpus Obstrictus on a semi-resistant werewolf resulted in a nosebleed, indicating magical strain from forcing the bind.
Note:
MAX Mastery means Cassian has passed the threshold of the Interface and was awarded with Ancient Variants. He can now cast those spells wandlessly and non-verbally, including the Ancient Variants, even if he hasn't reached MAX Mastery on the ancient variants themselves.
This list will be updated as more spells and Ancient Variants are revealed.
