Chapter 20 - ²⁰: claiming the heat

"we should leave her here, I think nobody will come here so late in the night." The guard carrying Elara said as he dropped her on the forest floor before dusting his clothes which had come in her contact.

The thud of her frail body hitting the damp earth echoed faintly in the quiet night, her limp frame crumpling against the cold ground like a discarded rag doll.

The guard sneered, brushing his palms against his trousers with exaggerated disgust, as if even her unconscious touch had tainted him. His companions stood nearby, their shadows long and crooked under the pale moonlight.

He then turned towards the other guards who had came along with him " do you remember the look on the faces on those guards in the dungen when we went to get this girl?" He asked his companion who nodded remembering how scared their faces were when they had reached to get this girl from the dungeon.
