Kaelith tensed. His heart skipped a tiny, awkward beat as he suddenly recalled that he himself was not yet clear of repercussions. In fretting over his brother, he had for an instant forgotten about himself.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" he exclaimed in a rush.
Wasting not a moment, he lapsed into a jog along the border of the courtyard and started his punishment-thirty circuits about the palace grounds. The palatial palace spread out over acres, its grounds winding through gardens, courtyards, and lengthy stone halls.
