Chapter 439 - Chapter 439: World: Over Heaven

The Insect Arrow.

Just like its name, the arrowhead is carved with a six-legged, sharp-beaked armored insect. On the insect's back are barbs that look like shark fins.

When Diavolo was young, he dug up a total of six Stand arrows, and only this one was special. The other arrows all had a hollow indentation inside.

As for the Insect Arrow, there are two ways to use it.

The first is to use the arrowhead to cut the body, thereby awakening a Stand.

In this regard, it is no different from the other five arrows.

Based on analysis of the original work, the Stands awakened by the Insect Arrow roughly include,

Dio's The World.

Father Pucci's White Snake.

In addition, Weather Report awakened along with his brother Father Pucci's awakening, so it can also be counted as a Stand awakened by the Insect Arrow.

These three are all extremely powerful Stands.

Of course, the strength of a Stand has nothing to do with which arrow awakens it.

What matters more is the user's own spiritual will.

Or perhaps it is precisely because their spiritual will was strong that the Insect Arrow, guided by fate, found its way to them?

Ryosuke did not know.

The other, more widely known use is to be pierced again by the Insect Arrow, thereby activating a supreme Stand far beyond ordinary Stands, namely: Requiem.

Driven by the Stand user's strongest current desire, a Stand pierced by the Insect Arrow will evolve in the direction of that desire and become a Requiem.

Because a Requiem Stand contains the Stand user's desire at its most intense extreme, Requiem Stands usually have independent self-awareness and can act on their own.

Regarding the use of the Insect Arrow, there are also two opposing viewpoints.

As the one who excavated the Insect Arrow, Diavolo believed that the Requiem created by the Insect Arrow was "selective", and only those with the qualifications could advance to Requiem.

The person he considered qualified was naturally Diavolo himself.

Other than him, no one else was worthy.

Polnareff, who truly held and studied the Insect Arrow for a long time and accidentally activated Grand Chariot, never mentioned anything about "qualifications".

In the original story, when the main group was in grave danger, Polnareff even told Mista to immediately use the Insect Arrow to pierce his Stand and awaken Requiem first.

Based on these two viewpoints, Ryosuke inferred that the threshold for using the Insect Arrow to advance to Requiem might not be as high as imagined.

What is truly difficult is how to control a Requiem with independent consciousness after the advancement.

Without sufficiently strong spiritual power, the Requiem will go berserk, lose control, and act instinctively based on the desire present at the moment of advancement.

For example, Grand Chariot Requiem.

The Stand user and the Stand are originally two sides of the same coin. Losing control from the main body also means losing a part of oneself.

That is why Grand Chariot Requiem had such obvious weaknesses.

Of course, all of the above applies to people without a system.

Ryosuke has a system.

[Consume one Fate Ink to use the Insect Arrow to evolve any Stand into Requiem.]

[No Stand restrictions.]

[No fate backlash.]

Pure enhancement, no need to consider any cost of fate.

The Insect Arrow can even be returned to Giorno after use.

Because what elevated Ryosuke to Requiem was Fate Ink, and the Insect Arrow merely took on the role of the "pen" while also erasing the cost.

This way, Giorno can maintain Gold Requiem, plus the new Requiem Ryosuke gains.

Back and forth, the team gains two additional Requiem-level Stands.

Ryosuke held the Insect Arrow and looked at the Stand descriptions under the system interface, his eyes momentarily overwhelmed.

Aside from the Star Platinum Requiem and Killer Queen Requiem he had seen before when fighting the Otsutsuki squad, after obtaining the Insect Arrow, the newly available Stands that could advance to Requiem included, Civil War: Requiem.

It can cause the sins of everyone to take physical form. Only newborn infants, the purest of all, are exempt.

Only sincere repentance can prevent one from being killed by their inner sins.

Those who die within their sins will fall into the hell of Civil War and suffer eternal cycles of torment. Those who recognize their mistakes and repent during the cycle can enter the summoning roster of Civil Requiem in the form of summons, to be commanded by Ryosuke.

———

Ryosuke pondered for a while.

"Is this becoming God?"

This ability, given to any ambitious person, would allow them to dominate the world in a short time and make everyone in the world offer them loyalty.

He continued reading.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

[Ticket to Ride: Requiem]

[No longer random misfortune or fortune distribution. Tear Requiem will form a real ticket leading to wishes. As long as the ticket is held, one will inevitably race forward along the tracks of fate, without requiring Ryosuke's active control.]

———

[Aerosmith: Requiem]

[Flies at twenty Mach speed, attack range covers the entire globe, infinite nuclear bombs.]

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Ryosuke read through them one by one.

The abilities corresponding to Requiem were all relatively complex. The descriptions above were simplified as much as possible, selecting only the core information.

No matter which Stand it was, after stepping into the realm of Requiem, it either gained extreme numerical enhancement, like the nuclear bombardment of Aerosmith Requiem, or its original mechanics were further perfected, like Ticket to Ride and Civil War.

After reading everything once, Ryosuke let out a breath, suppressed the urge to stab himself with it, and temporarily closed the system interface.

Insect Arrow plus Fate Ink could be said to be a truly perfect combination.

Use it, he definitely would.

The question was which Stand to use it on to achieve the greatest effect in the upcoming battles.

'The key is knowing exactly what abilities Super Dio has. Only by understanding his abilities can we target him precisely and design countermeasures.'

As Ryosuke thought this, he looked at the unconscious Giorno.

He definitely knew some answers.

Ryosuke walked over and used the Saint's Corpse to purify Giorno. When passing the spot where Diavolo experienced spatial folding, he could not help but sigh,

What does it mean to be a boss?

Finish the job, don't eat, don't smoke a single cigarette, and just "leave".

This kind of person deserves to be the boss.

Of course, Ryosuke was only joking to himself.

Everyone has to take responsibility for their own choices. This is the world of adults. And considering Diavolo's identity as a drug lord, perhaps death was the best ending for him.

At least, he truly died.

After Diavolo's death, he also became a corrupted soul and flew into the Saint's Corpse. This showed that even after experiencing countless deaths and torment, Diavolo still had not a shred of remorse for what he had done.

Adding the Cioccolata and Prosciutto previously killed by Uchiha Madara's team, corrupted souls in this timeline +3, current total 13.

Ryosuke also found another piece of the Saint's Corpse on Giorno, bringing the total to 5 pieces.

While sorting out the gains, Giorno woke up, clutching his forehead as he sat up.

"You're back?" Ryosuke asked.

Giorno glanced at the hand Ryosuke extended, grabbed it, and stood up from the ground, saying with a pained expression, "I'm back… but the memories from this period are really…"

"Too disgusting."

Not only acknowledging a thief as one's father, but also praising Dio's greatness again and again.

Just thinking about it made Giorno feel nauseated.

Ryosuke took a bottle of iced black tea from the Ghost Room and tossed it over.

After Giorno drank a few mouthfuls and recovered a bit, Ryosuke asked about Dio's abilities and how Giorno had been captured by him.

"He defeated me head-on. Golden Experience Requiem was…"

Giorno raised his head, wariness in his eyes.

[World: Over Heaven, defeated me head-on!]
