"Er... What now?"
"We need to leave," Elijah said, giving the place a once-over before turning back only to find himself almost colliding with Alexei.
The young master was standing much too close.
"Do you not need to perform a ritual or something? Like, put the dead to rest, or—oh, right—that resentment energy thing! Don't you need to get rid of that?"
"Resentment mostly clings to the soul. And there are no souls here."
"So, the place is clean and we don't have to do anything?"
Elijah hummed, trying to step past, but Alexei shifted just enough to block him.
"What if you missed something?" Alexei pressed. "Shouldn't you at least take a proper look around? Maybe figure out the motive?"
Were Elijah's eyes playing tricks, or was Lyosha… bothered?
Perhaps the sight was too much, but then—why wasn't he running from it? Why was he holding Elijah here, of all things?
"No," Elijah said firmly.
Loitering here was a red alert waiting to happen.
