Chapter 100 - Truth and Beliefs

"Mr. Ambrose," Professor Resse called out in the crowded classroom. "Meet me in my office."

Elijah nodded but stayed seated, waiting for the other students to clear out before he stood.

Just as he was about to head for the door, the spider-woman began shrieking again. This was her corner, and he had no choice but to go near her.

Busy with the lesson, he'd forgotten about the charm, and now his spiritual energy—his Aura, as some liked to call it—was terrifying her.

She didn't even swing past his ear anymore.

In hindsight, that was a good thing, if only she hadn't screamed as though she'd seen a ghost. His ears were already ringing from her banshee-like wails.

Elijah made a mental note to visit Father John as he stepped out of the room.

The hiding charm was on his list, along with some things to make a blessing charm.

He hadn't gone far in the hallway when a student stopped him.

A girl with a shy smile peeked up at him through long lashes.

"Hi, Senior," she said softly.
