"Are you done with your talk?" Alexei asked, completely disregarding the increasingly dark face of Aaron.
"Give me a minute," Elijah replied, but this time his shoulders weren't so tense anymore.
Perhaps it was the illusion of the peeking sunlight that softened his gray eyes.
"Say."
Familiar monosyllable style.
Alexei had suffered from it too, but now, when he saw someone else suffering, it felt quite good.
So, he too mimicked Elijah's stern expression and muttered, "Say."
What else could Aaron do but chew the inside of his cheek?
The metallic taste lingering on the tip of his tongue brought his senses back from the heavy thoughts. Thoughts that made him want to ruin someone.
Then, he calmly pulled on his spectacles and put them on.
Silver frame, thin and light. Similar to what Elijah would wear when he was drowning himself in the sea of knowledge.
When Alexei felt Elijah stiffen beside him, a gleam flashed in his eyes.
