Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Before we grew up

Sylvren tried reading what was on the chest, but the language was unknown to them. Riven tried tracing the letters with his fingers nothing new. They decided to see what was inside the chest, they found some cracked faintly glowing blue or cyan orbs, a pure white sword, a staff with a glowing green ball on top of it.

They decided that Riven would take the staff and Sylvren would take the sword.

Sylvren said: "we need to go home fast", as they were on their way, Sylvren had moved ahead of Riven, a black rose soldier stopped Riven when he was behind demanding that Riven gives him the staff as a royal order, Riven held it tightly until the soldier tried to take it by force, then blood came from the soldier, a sword its blade pierced through his chest killing him, it was Sylvren with eyes full of fear and relief saying: "I know you were in some kind of trouble, but with soldier we need to go back before they find him". They headed home, they decided to dug deep and bury the staff and the sword inside the dried river before anyone noticing them as the whole village were searching for them. After burying their things they showed up, they promised each other not to say a thing about what happened, Riven's mother scolded her son while Torrin was laughing from behind saying: "where have you been we were looking for you for hours" and then hugged Riven tightly.

While Riven was with his family, the maids and guards of the orphanage were waiting for Sylvren to take him and punish him from his actions, Sylvren watched as Riven's mom was pinching his ear, the warmth, the laughter, the meaning of a family, and he was dragged to the orphanage looking at himself as a nobody, he wanted that for someone to care for him not to treat him as an unknown kid, he thought it was hatred towards Riven and the village and should get it out of his mind, but it was envy. Sylvren was too young to understand this. When he got to the orphanage, a maid named Maya looked out for him, chatting with him, looking after him, she was like his mom. After the incident she stood up and said that she would take the matters into her own hand, she didn't punish him like the other maids. She told him: "whenever you are ready talk to me". While Sylvren was crying in her arms saying: "it was a promise to a friend ma'am I can't say it". She comforted him saying that she would be like his mom not judging him like the others then Sylvren said:" can I call you mom", then she nodded her head and hugged him. It was his first time to feel this a hug a caring parent.

The flow went back, Riven and Sylvren were learning at the orphanage, competing with each other, they aced the exams, they were the top students, Sylvren got the best degree showing his presence to the whole village. Riven's mom treated Sylvren like her own son no differences. Riven and Sylvren trained so hard at the abandoned camp of the revolutionary army, improving a day after the other. They were the last hope of Eloria, they promised at the eternal river that they would free Eloria together sharing moments of laughter, anger, sorrow, they never broke their promise.

Years went by, Now, Riven and Sylvren are in their twenties, deciding to fullfil the promise from years ago.
