Screams echoed through the streets as giant spider-like monsters overtook the buildings. Dragons dove through the sky, fire tumbling out of their mouths and towards the crowd of innocent civilians who, just minutes before, had been going about their day as usual. Strange portals scattered across the ground and sky with unending streams of strange beasts tumbling out of them.
Jade, a 16-year old girl, was huddled under her bed out of fear. The roof of the apartment complex her family lived in had been ripped off, and because they had one of the top floor rooms, she currently had no ceiling. Her parents and brother were nowhere to be seen, but that was the least of her worries right now.
Little goblins were rummaging through her house in search of a life source to destroy. They were holding daggers resembling the ones from the stone age that you could find in museums. Jade held her breath, hoping they couldn't hear her pounding heartbeat.
After seeming to search the whole kitchen, they slowly crept into her room. She gasped in fright and one of them snapped its head in her direction. It pointed its dagger to the bed and made low grumbling sounds to the other one, in what she could only assume was their language. As the goblins started creeping slowly toward her, Jade knew she was done for. Silently crying, she shut her eyes and waited for the painful stabbing sensation to engulfe her.
After a terrifyingly long amount of time she peeked an eye open and realized that the screams outside had stopped. The goblins that were ready to eat her moments before were now frozen mid-walk in front of her bed. Before she could process what had happened a blue square flashed in front of her,

Dumbfounded by this turn of events, Jade sat blankly. Realizing she should've died moments before, she sobbed to her heart's content, letting out all the pent up fear she had been keeping in.
Before she could fully finish her mental breakdown, the system flashed again,
[You Have 10 Seconds Remaining Before Your Opportunity Disappears!
Jade quickly panicked, and not wanting to lose her chance, she lifted her hand, and pressed the button, praying this would save her.
