"Hey, I uh..." Asher stops and stares at me with his arched brows. "Did no one pick you up?"
"Yeah, I told them not to."
"Why? It's fucking dangerous outside by yourself. Are you still mad at them?"
"Yes… no… I just—I just wanted my own space and all that." I avoid direct eye contact and walk nervously to the bed. "You should've laid more comfortably instead of cramping yourself on the chair."
"I fucking dozed off." I nod, wondering if he's the one always changing my lock password or if the culprit shared my password with the others.
That's a fucking invasion of privacy, but weirdly, I'm not pissed off even a bit. Maybe because it's Asher.
I take out a bottle of water from my mini fridge and hand it over to him. "Did you get any lead on Annika?" I ask.
He takes the bottle from me, unscrews the cap, and gulps down half like he's been parched for days.
