If I had thought the silence was deafening before, it is nothing next to the heavy, suffocating quiet that now presses against my ear.

Finn doesn't attempt to speak, but he stares daggers into the side of Kaleb's head, as though he's planning on dragging him out of this room and beating him to death.

If you had told me he was capable of giving that sort of look to Kaleb a few months ago, I would have laughed my ribs out. And I understand why he's this mad.

Kaleb had called an emergency dinner gathering for all of our bond only for Kiara to walk in on us with him.

According to him, finding Sabastino was far better than kicking Kiara away.

Eli can't stop staring between the two, his eyes darting between them as he assesses what's going on. I'm sure there's a level of mental communication happening that I can't hear, but whatever it is, he doesn't look happy about it.
