Chapter 60 - New Life DxD- Chapter 58

He also knew that Gilgamesh had torn off one of his boss Azazel's arms when they met, and Tobio had received a strong warning to be cautious of the King of Heroes, which he now understood.

Even though Gilgamesh was trying to suppress his power, Tobio could still feel an overwhelmingly strong aura emanating from his body.

"As I said, it's for a reunion. I have no interest in fighting, though if you want to fight, I'm willing," said Gilgamesh, but Tobio shook his head.

"What a surprise to see you here, Sekiryuutei," said a voice beside Gilgamesh and Valerie, drawing the attention of the three.

It was two men.

One of them was a tall man who appeared to be in his twenties, with a medium build, black hair, golden bangs, and a black goatee.

He wore a long brown coat with a V-neck and a wide, open high collar that flared out at the hem. The long coat also featured two black bands at the waist and four black bands on each arm, two at the wrist and two near the elbow. He wore gray pants and brown shoes.

The other was a handsome young man with light silver hair and light blue eyes. He was wearing a dark green V-neck shirt with a high-collared black leather jacket over it. He also wore burgundy jeans with a silver chain draped over them, black leather chaps with three bands around the right calf, and black shoes with black buckles.

They were Azazel, the leader of the Fallen Angels, a twelve-winged Fallen Angel with power to rival a Maou.

Beside him was Vali Lucifer, a descendant of the original Lucifer and the current Hakuryuukou, wielder of the Longinus [Divine Dividing].

"Hey, good to see you again, Azazel," said Gilgamesh amicably. "Nice arm," said Gilgamesh, pointing to the arm Azazel had in place of the one that was torn off.

Azazel just smiled.

"Isn't it?" he said cheerfully. "I made it from my research on Sacred Gears," Azazel explained.

Gilgamesh turned his attention to Vali and smiled.

"Pleasure to meet you, Hakuryuukou," said Gilgamesh, smiling.

Vali smiled back in the same way.

"Good to meet you, Sekiryuutei," Vali said.

At that moment, the [Boosted Gear] and the [Divine Dividing] manifested in their respective wielders.

[It's been a long time, Albion,] said Ddraig, the Red Dragon Emperor, from within the Longinus.

[Yes, it's been a long time, Ddraig,] replied Albion, the White Dragon Emperor, from within the [Divine Dividing].

[It seems you've found an interesting host, Albion,] said Ddraig.

[You too. A demigod, just like Vali being a descendant of Lucifer and possessing me, is a miraculous existence, as is your host,] commented Albion.

Vali turned his gaze to Gilgamesh.

"Here for a fight, Sekiryuutei?" asked Vali, practically begging for the answer to be yes.

"That wasn't my reason, Hakuryuukou, but if you want, I don't mind," said Gilgamesh, smiling.

Seeing that things were escalating, Azazel decided to speak.

"Well, let's calm things down. After all, if the Two Heavenly Dragons fight here, everyone will die," said Azazel, receiving a nod from Tobio.

Azazel turned his gaze to Valerie.

"So, who's the pretty girl with you?" asked Azazel.

"My name is Valerie Tepes," said the girl, to Azazel's surprise.

"Tepes? A vampire—no, a Dhampir, and with a powerful Sacred Gear," said Azazel after a quick analysis, surprising Valerie and Gilgamesh.

"Yes, Valerie is the wielder of the Longinus [Sephiroth Graal]," replied Gilgamesh, causing everyone's eyes to widen.

"Longinus," said Tobio, surprised.

"Surprising," said Vali, already wanting to test his power against Valerie.

"I see, so she has that Sacred Gear," said Azazel with pity.

"What are you talking about, Azazel?" asked Vali, puzzled, along with Tobio.

Azazel sighed before explaining.

"Well, first of all, that thing is a troublesome Sacred Gear that overloads its wielder's mind with information about the origins of life and the soul. This has driven many of its previous users to madness," said Azazel to Tobio and Vali, who gave pitying looks.

[Sephiroth Graal] was a lower-tier Longinus, but it was considered one of the most dangerous due to its absolute harm to its wielder, even when compared to other Longinus.

Not only did it impose knowledge of the origins of life and the soul on its wielder, but every time it was used, an endless stream of information about the living and the dead around them flowed into their minds.

A normal mortal mind wouldn't be able to remain intact after being exposed to so much information.

However, Valerie had no issues using her Longinus because Gilgamesh constantly used his power to neutralize the malicious effects of this Sacred Gear.

"Are you okay?" asked Azazel, visibly concerned.

Firstly, because Gilgamesh had a Longinus wielder by his side, and one of the Holy Relics at that, since the [Sephiroth Graal] was dangerous in its own way.

And then, for the girl herself. Over his life, he had seen some users of this Longinus and watched them go mad because of its power, which was truly unpleasant, but it seemed the girl was fine.

"No need to worry. Thanks to Gil, I can use my Sacred Gear without worrying about its harm," said Valerie to Azazel, who was surprised.

"That's a relief," said Azazel.

The last thing they needed was a crazed Longinus wielder.

"So, who did you come to meet?" asked Azazel, and Gilgamesh smiled.

"A friend," said Gilgamesh, smiling.

At that moment, the lights dimmed and focused on the large stage at the end of the room, drawing everyone's attention.

Stepping onto the stage was a beautiful, curvy young woman with long, loose blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. She wore a white dress.

Slowly, she began to sing with her beautiful voice.

Everyone was instantly captivated by the wonderful and magnificent voice that echoed through the shop.

She sang with her splendid voice on the stage.

Everyone was enthralled by her voice, even the stoic Vali had a small smile on his face.

Tobio and Azazel turned their attention to Gilgamesh, who was completely focused on the woman on stage.

They couldn't help but be surprised by the look Gilgamesh was giving her. It wasn't the lustful look many men had; it was the look you only give to someone very dear, someone you care about but haven't seen in years.

When the woman finished singing, everyone quickly gave her a round of applause, including Gilgamesh, Valerie, Vali, Tobio, and Azazel.

Soon after, the woman left the stage and approached Gilgamesh, Valerie, Tobio, Vali, and Azazel.

"Oh, you came to see me, Va-kun," said the woman, hugging Vali, making him blush while the others laughed.

Vali quickly broke free from her and stepped back, embarrassed.

"Tobi-kun and Azazel-sama, what were you doing here?" the woman asked curiously.

"We're talking with our new friend," said Azazel, pointing to Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh stood up and looked into the woman's eyes, who did the same.

"It's been over ten years, huh?" said Gilgamesh to her, smiling.

She looked at Gilgamesh for a moment before her eyes widened as she realized who he was and began to cry.

In an instant, she jumped into Gilgamesh's arms, hugging him to everyone's surprise.

"GIL-KUN!" she shouted with great joy.

Gilgamesh smiled at this.

"It's been a long time, Lavinia," said Gilgamesh with joy in his voice.

It was Lavinia Reni, a human magician from the Grauzauberer organization of the Mage Association and a member of the Slash/Dog Team, also known as the Ice Princess and the wielder of one of the thirteen Longinus: [Absolute Demise].

As well as Gilgamesh's older sister, by consideration.

"Gil-kun, you've grown so much. I thought you had disappeared," said Lavinia as tears streamed from her eyes, overjoyed at reuniting with her brother.

Since Lavinia had been taken by Glenda, she thought of her little brother every day.

For Lavinia, Gilgamesh was her little brother whom she cared for when she was a child and always cared deeply about.

She was very sad when she could no longer see him after being taken by Glenda, and now she was very surprised to see him here.

"You know him, Lavinia?" asked Azazel curiously, as did everyone else.

Lavinia turned to them with a happy look.

"This is my little brother, Gil-kun," said Lavinia cheerfully, to everyone's surprise.

"B-brother?" asked Tobio, expressing everyone's shock.

Gilgamesh nodded.

"We met when we were kids, and Lavinia kind of adopted me as her brother," said Gilgamesh to everyone, who, upon analyzing Lavinia's personality, saw that this was plausible.

"Who would've thought Lavinia's brother would be the Sekiryuutei," said Azazel with genuine surprise.

Lavinia turned her surprised gaze to Gilgamesh.

"You're the Sekiryuutei, Gil-kun? When did that happen?" she asked innocently.

Gilgamesh sighed; Lavinia was basically an airhead.

"It happened a few hours after you left ten years ago. I ended up awakening my Sacred Gear, and Sebas trained me," said Gilgamesh to her, who was surprised.

"Ten years ago? So you were six when you awakened your Sacred Gear, impressive," said Azazel, receiving a nod from everyone.

"Sebas-sama trained you?" asked Lavinia, remembering the butler.

"Yes, it seemed he had knowledge of the supernatural world," said Gilgamesh to her, nodding.

Lavinia nodded and took Vali's and Gilgamesh's hands, bringing them closer to her, surprising everyone.

She looked at both of them and smiled.

"You two are my brothers, got it? So I don't want you fighting and need to get along," said Lavinia seriously.

Gilgamesh and Vali looked at each other before turning their gaze back to Lavinia, puzzled.

Tobio had a smile on his face at the sight.

Valerie was trying to hold back her laughter.

Azazel was almost laughing; he knew Lavinia was like an older sister to Vali and, apparently, to the Sekiryuutei as well.

"Got it?" asked Lavinia with a voice so sweet it sent chills down everyone's spines.

"Yes, ma'am," replied the Two Heavenly Dragons at the same time.

Tobio and Valerie were almost laughing.

Azazel couldn't hold back.

Azazel was practically dying of laughter, drawing everyone's attention.

"I can't believe it, the Two Heavenly Dragons whipped by the same person," said Azazel while laughing, making Vali and Gilgamesh glare at him furiously.

Gilgamesh turned his gaze to Vali and said.

"You have my respect for putting up with Azazel every day, Vali," said Gilgamesh to the Hakuryuukou, who nodded.

"You have no idea how hard it is," said Vali, sighing.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" shouted Azazel, indignant.

Everyone sighed for a moment before Vali looked at Gilgamesh and spoke.

"Fight me, Sekiryuutei," said Vali seriously, surprising everyone.

"You're not supposed to fight," said Lavinia sternly.

"Actually, it's a good idea," said Azazel, drawing everyone's attention.

"Why?" asked Lavinia.

"This is a good way to gauge the powers of the Sekiryuutei and the Hakuryuukou, so we can see the difference between them," said Azazel seriously to everyone.

Everyone nodded in agreement, even Lavinia.

"Come on, I'll take you to a place to fight. You too, Lavinia, Tobio," said Azazel before everyone started following him.

**Some Time Later**

They walked for a few moments to some part of Grigori, where they arrived at a large battlefield.

"The system works similarly to the [Rating Game], so you'll fight in another pocket dimension," said Azazel to everyone.

Gilgamesh and Vali quickly entered the battle arena, with the others watching through a large screen.

"Will everything be okay?" asked Lavinia, worried because she didn't want either of them to get hurt.

"Don't worry, if the battle gets too serious, Tobio and I will intervene," said Azazel to them, with Tobio nodding.

"Don't worry, Lavinia, I can heal any injuries they get with my Longinus," said Valerie to Lavinia, who nodded.

Gilgamesh and Vali quickly entered the battlefield and distanced themselves.

Gilgamesh had a calm smile on his face, while Vali had an eager, battle-maniac smile at the thought of the fight to come.

"Let's begin," said Azazel through a microphone.

In that instant, Vali summoned his Sacred Gear, [Divine Dividing], which manifested in the form of two white wings with eight blue energy "feathers."

He quickly took to the air as he unleashed the power of his Sacred Gear.

"Balance Breaker," shouted Vali.
