According to Orochimaru, Tsunade was usually in the medical department and rarely left.
The so-called medical department was essentially the hospital Konoha had recently established. It held little actual authority and existed primarily for treating the wounded.
Originally, Tsunade had proposed assigning a medical ninja to every squad. Sarutobi Hiruzen had been somewhat swayed by the idea, but Shimura Danzo and the other two elders opposed it, fearing Tsunade's influence would grow. In their eyes, her proposal was an attempt to infiltrate every ninja squad.
Though Tsunade had no such intentions, Danzo and the others always assumed the worst of others. Additionally, the medical ninja system was a concept born from Tsunade's efforts and was still fraught with uncertainties.
In the end, Hiruzen agreed to establish Konoha Hospital but rejected the idea of assigning medical ninjas to squads.
Konoha Hospital was located on a bustling street, unlike the Research and Development Department, which was tucked away in a remote area.
At this time, the hospital was not particularly crowded. Only a handful of people were present.
"Are the people of Konoha this healthy?"
Kin frowned as he observed the sparse crowd in the hospital. The entire lobby had no more than seven or eight people, including the medical staff.
In reality, the hospital had only been established a few years prior, and many residents still distrusted it. People only came for serious illnesses, avoiding it for minor ailments like headaches or colds.
Kin walked up to the front desk.
"Please register," the medical staff member said without looking up, busy recording something.
Kin tapped the desk.
"I'm Uchiha Kin. I'm here to see Lady Tsunade."
The staff member looked up. She had delicate features, and her nurse uniform accentuated her curvaceous figure.
Kin licked his lips.
"I could also be here to see you."
The staff member laughed, sizing him up before teasing, "Come back in a few years, little brother."
"I may be young, but I'm well-equipped where it counts."
The staff member chuckled and was about to reply when her expression suddenly changed. She lowered her head.
Kin's smile froze. "Don't tell me… the incredibly sexy, beautiful, gentle, and kind Lady Tsunade is standing behind me?"
The staff member peeked up, nodded subtly, and quickly returned to her work.
Kin slowly turned around to face Tsunade, who was already raising her fist.
"Hey, Tsunade-neechan, I had no idea you were here." He adopted the shy demeanor of a young boy.
Tsunade glared at him, cracking her knuckles.
"You're truly Jiraiya's disciple."
"Go reflect in hell!!"
"Mighty Punch!!"
BOOM!
In Tsunade's office, Kin sat across from her, his face bruised and swollen.
"Well? Didn't you want to see me?" Tsunade snorted. Flattery wouldn't save him after he'd dared to flirt with her staff.
"I'd like to invite you to join my Research and Development Department," Kin said, his injuries healing rapidly.
"The Research and Development Department?" Tsunade glanced at him and refused outright. "I'm busy at the hospital. I don't have time."
She had no interest in developing new jutsu anymore. In fact, she was considering leaving Konoha altogether. She wanted nothing to do with ninja life.
Once Shizune was a little older, she planned to depart. For now, she was focused on training more medical ninjas before her exit.
Hiruzen had already begun prioritizing medical ninjas. Perhaps soon, every squad would include one.
Kin's gaze shifted to the plaque hanging behind Tsunade, bearing the word "Konoha."
"Then, Lady Tsunade… don't you want to see those who've passed away?"
His voice was like a gust of wind, swirling into her ears and piercing straight to the core of her mind. Her memories were thrown into chaos, and her heart seemed to stop.
For a moment, Tsunade felt as though even breathing had become impossible.
Then, her eyes sharpened, locking onto Uchiha Kin with deadly intensity.
Her breath came in ragged gasps, her heart pounding anew. Her voice was laced with fury.
"Are you trying to desecrate the dead?! Uchiha Kin!! Do you have a death wish?! Right here, right now?!"
She slammed her hands on the desk, her eyes bloodshot. She didn't even know what she was so angry about—her emotions were a tangled mess.
Kin observed the overwhelming chakra pressure and killing intent radiating from Tsunade, potent enough to kill an ordinary person.
This version of Tsunade was likely stronger than her canonical counterpart, possibly the most powerful of the Sannin. While Kin was confident against Orochimaru or Jiraiya, Tsunade's strength was unpredictable.
"Lady Tsunade, you're overreacting."
Kin remained calm, making no defensive moves despite her rage.
Tsunade took a deep breath, forcing down her turbulent emotions before slumping back into her chair, exhausted.
"You want to research the Second Hokage's technique, don't you?"
"The Impure World Reincarnation Technique."
A jutsu that summoned the dead.
"No," Kin shook his head. "That technique only temporarily calls back the deceased for combat. That's not the kind of revival I'm after."
"I can create something better."
Kin had his own pride. He refused to believe that Tobirama Senju's genius surpassed his own unparalleled talent for deduction. If he wanted, he could develop a true resurrection jutsu.
"A complete, flawless resurrection technique—one that doesn't require sacrificing lives."
"You're dreaming!"
Tsunade didn't believe it was possible. Even Tobirama had only intended to exploit the undead nature of the summoned for combat, pairing them with explosive tags.
Kin countered, "Then why do you assume I can't do it, Lady Tsunade?"
Tsunade stared at him, taking another deep breath. If it were anyone else, she wouldn't entertain the idea for a second.
But this was Uchiha Kin.
The creator of the Thousand Spider Poison Hand and the Basic Internal Energy Technique—jutsu that defied conventional ninja arts.
Perhaps he really could do it.
"I'll give you time to consider it. If you decide to join, the Research and Development Department's doors are always open to you."
Kin stood and bowed slightly in respect.
"We'll await your arrival, Lady Tsunade."
With that, he left the room, leaving Tsunade slumped in her chair, utterly drained.
She had never felt so exhausted.
Not even days of non-stop combat during the war compared to this conversation.
"What should I do… Dan?"
The next day, the normally sparsely populated Research and Development Department was bustling with over twenty Uchiha clansmen, along with Hizure and Orochimaru.
It was a gathering of elite talent.
However…
Kin's face darkened as he glared at Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina, who stood nearby, looking eager.
"Why are you two here?!"
