I swallowed hard as I stared out of the window, patiently waiting for Shawn. Perhaps, he wasn't coming.
Luke and Lena deserved to know their father, I thought as I bit my lower lip. I exhaled. At the same time, I had to protect my kids.
"Sorry, I'm late," Shawn said, taking a seat.
I smiled. "Thanks for coming."
"Laura, I'd do anything for you," he said, reaching for my hand. "So, why did you want us to meet?"
I averted my gaze from him to the glass of wine in front of me. "I need a favor from you."
"Anything. Name it, I'll do it," he said, leaning out of the chair.
"I want you to act like Luke and Lena's… dad."
Shawn looked confused. "What?"
"I just want to protect them and also give them the life they deserve," I said, quickly. "Please understand me, Shawn. Luke and Lena wants a dad but I can't let them know right now that their dad is Lorenzo. I have to protect them from the media and from any scandal. I can't endanger their lives."
