Chapter 5 - Chapter Five The Beach

Several years later…

On a warm summer afternoon at a public beach in Florida, two tall lads in swimming trunks were kicking a small, blue football around by the sea, punting it closer to the water, when one of them stopped and stared.

'Hey, Harry, why did you quit?' John asked.

Turning to face him, Harry pointed. 'Look over there, John, and tell me what you see.'

John brushed his hand through his short, jet-black hair as he stood next to his blond pal and looked towards the sea. 'What I am looking for, Harry?'

Harry indicated where the beach met the sea. 'John,' he shouted. 'Are you blind, or do you just need new glasses?' John didn't appreciate the comment. He hated when his friend made fun of him about his glasses, or anything else for that matter.

Eventually, he spotted what Harry was telling him about. Lying on a sunbed near the sea was a young woman. She had long, blonde hair and was wearing a light blue swimsuit and a pair of black sunglasses, everything about her seemed normal, apart from her light green skin.

John looked at Harry and winked. 'God, Harry, look at her, she is smoking hot.' Harry gave his friend an appreciative grin. 'I told you, didn't I? We should come here more often. There are always hot babes on this beach.'

John gave him a playful punch on the arm. 'Yeah, Harry, but never this hot, I wonder who she is and if her skin colour is real.'

Harry looked at John and started laughing. 'Don't know, John. What I do know is that we are about to make a new friend.' Saying that, he raced towards her, leaving John where he was standing.

'Harry, don't do anything stupid, we don't know who she is or where she came from.'

Harry either didn't hear or was ignoring his friend, as he just ran. Making his way to the sunbed he noticed that she was asleep and could now see how attractive she was. Her green skin appeared to be glowing in the sun. She was well over six feet tall. Apart from her green skin, she had dark green lips and her finger and toenails were also dark green. Harry was tempted to give her a small peck on the cheek, but didn't, and just continued to stare at her. Without warning, just as Harry was about to say something, she woke up. He nearly had a heart attack as the woman looked at him.

'Hey, I didn't know that anyone else came here besides me,' she said in an English accent.

Slowly getting up from the sunbed, she began to stretch her legs. Harry noticed that there wasn't a single hair on them, in fact, her entire body was smooth. Seeing her get up, John rushed down towards them, out of breath by the time he got there. Looking at them, her hands clenched into fists.

'So, there are two of you?' she asked, becoming angry. 'Looks like my sunbathing will have to wait for a while. What are you two doing, spying on me?'

John looked at her, his head bowed. 'We didn't mean to spy on you, ma'am,' he said as if he were speaking for both of them. 'We often come to this beach and it's full of women, but today you're the first person we've seen.'

Harry nodded in agreement.

The woman looked at them quizzically. 'So, you aren't from the military?'

'No, ma'am, we just live a block away from the beach.'

The woman nodded and took her sunglasses off, giving the young men a friendly smile and staring at them with her dark green eyes. 'Looks like you two are just a couple of young boys who are up for a good time. Am I right?'

Harry and John looked at each other.

'We normally come here,' John said nervously. 'Because we want to meet women.'

The woman started laughing. 'How very cute,' she said jokingly. 'Listen, boys, why don't you hit the bars and clubs uptown and forget about seeing me here?'

The two lads looked at each other before running off. After they had left, the woman folded away the sunbed and went back to her car. As she was walking up the slope to the car park, she noticed the two young men sitting on the bank.

'Hey, boys,' she said, smiling as she got near them. 'I thought you were heading towards town?'

Harry looked at her. 'We were,' he said, feeling stupid. 'But the beach is five miles from town.'

The woman slowly walked away from them and continued up the bank towards her car, then stopped and turned around to face them. 'I could give you a lift if you like.'

The two guys looked at each other and Harry piped up, 'That would be awesome of you.'

The three of them walked to her red Ford, and Harry and John got in. A few minutes later, she climbed into the front seat and started the engine, zooming off. They hadn't been on the road very long when the car stopped and the woman turned around to face them.

'So, what are your names?'

'My name's Harry, and this is my friend the king of the geeks, John. What's your name?'

The woman looked Harry straight in the eye. 'Call me Green Girl.' she said, faci

ng forward again and driving off.
