The way Lucian had frozen when he'd accidentally walked in on me changing, the way his eyes had widened, the embarrassment that had followed. Now I was about to potentially do the same thing to him, and the thought made my stomach flip in a way that had nothing to do with hunger.
"No," I hissed under my breath, grateful that everyone else was still in the living room and couldn't hear me having a conversation with my lycan. "No, no, no. I'm just checking to make sure he's okay. That's all."
Sure you are, Morrigan said, her mental laughter echoing in my head.
I groaned softly, my cheeks burning. Sometimes having a lycan who could sense all of my emotions and thoughts was more of a curse than a blessing.
But despite Morrigan's teasing, I really was worried about Lucian. The silence from the bathroom was concerning, and given his current mental state, I couldn't help but imagine all sorts of terrible scenarios.
I knocked softly on the bathroom door. "Lucian? You okay in there?"
