Elias's POV
The screaming started immediately.
"MONSTERS! THERE ARE MONSTERS!"
"Call 911! CALL THE MILITARY!"
"Oh God, those are vampires! Real vampires! We're going to die!"
"Mummy! What are those?!"
Chaos erupted faster than I could process. People running in every direction, cars slamming into each other as drivers tried to flee for their lives, glass storefronts shattering as bodies pressed against them. The vampires that had been pulled through with us caught the scent of fresh blood, so much fresh blood, and lost their fucking minds.
Oh no.
"No!" I roared, but it was too late.
A vampire launched itself at a businessman who had been foolishly filming with his phone. Fangs met throat, and arterial spray painted the sidewalk crimson. The man's scream cut off into a gurgle, his phone clattering to the ground, still recording.
"Stop them!" Luna shouted, but we were outnumbered and scattered.
