Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: Speedrun 5

Looks like this damn dungeon was more treacherous than expected; from the first floor till now, he hadn't encountered any traps.

But the first trap he found was a ruthless one; Senzo wiped the sweat off his forehead and urged War to recall all the spectral warriors.

The next moment all the spectral warriors were reabsorbed by the banner that War was waving around.

"Let's keep going," Senzo said; he would definitely never lower his guard anymore in this dungeon.

"Understood."

War said while going toward the light, and when they finally left the void, they saw another spiraling staircase in front of them.

"..."

Senzo couldn't help but sigh; it looked like clearing this dungeon would take quite a while.

"At least there's no boss here; if there were a boss for those creatures, it would be very terrifying."

War and the others couldn't help but nod, hearing Senzo's words. Even they who had experienced countless eras were vigilant against those monsters.

"War, you go up first, and we will follow after you. The moment you arrive up there, send the spectral warriors in all viable directions to scout the new area out," Senzo ordered; he had to hasten his pace. Emi and the others couldn't hold out much longer.

War rushed up the stairs immediately after hearing what Senzo said; this was what he wanted: exploring and fighting strong enemies.

Waving his massive blood-red greatsword and the spectral banner, he quickly arrived at the new floor.

"Huh?"

But what he saw left him dumbfounded; it didn't look like an apartment building's interior anymore; instead, it looked more like a jungle.

There were puddles of water everywhere, and trees and all kinds of other vegetation were all he could see, no matter where he looked.

He didn't mind it, though; it looked like his new master was blessed to always find some enjoyable battles.

With a smirk on his face, he quickly sent out hundreds of spectral warriors; he didn't even need to say a single word. Their connection was so deep that he could give them the orders through his thoughts.

The spectral warriors immediately formed units once more and spread out in all directions to map out this entire floor and quickly find the staircase or exit.

War, on the other hand, stuck his greatsword into the ground and stood guard next to where Senzo and the others would arrive at this new floor.

A couple of moments later, Senzo and the others also arrived at the third floor.

"..."

Senzo rolled his eyes while looking around; it looked like every damn floor would be vastly different compared to the previous one.

"Have you—"

But before Senzo could finish his sentence, War interrupted him.

"The spectral warriors have been sent out in small units and are currently exploring and trying to find the exit or the stairs."

Bang!

Death smacked War with the back of his scythe in the head. "Don't be rude, War!" he growled.

"Hehe."

Senzo couldn't help but chuckle a little. "It's fine, Death. He was right; I wanted to ask about that. If he ever does this and is wrong, however, you can beat his ass," Senzo said while waving his hand, signaling that it was fine.

He preferred having capable subordinates anyway; having only yes-men around you isn't good.

Then he turned and faced War. "But do remember to not do it too often; it can be quite annoying."

"Understood, master."

War replied with a deep bow. This master is interesting. He thought, even though he had served numerous masters, most just didn't use them or wanted everything to be in their complete control.

But a couple of them were like Senzo, and those were always the most exhilarating to follow.

"So what now? Do we just wait here until they find anything, or are we also going?" Senzo asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

The faster they find that damn staircase or exit, the faster they can save the people still waiting in the safe zone.

"I think we should split up, each taking a direction, and also look around; for all we know, there could be requirements to find the stairs, like finding this fruit or killing that monster, you know," Death said.

"That makes sense, but there are only four cardinal directions, and there are five of us. Should one direction have two members, or should we each go in our own direction?"

"I'll go with master!" Pest suddenly exclaimed, slapping his chest enthusiastically.

"Alright, that works. We will take the north, War, you take the west, Death takes the east, and Famine the south," Senzo ordered. Now wasn't the time to be disputing over such minor matters after all.

"If you find any monsters, kill them without hesitation because, like Death said, there could be requirements to find the stairs, and if you find the stairs, just make a massive commotion so we can see it."

"Understood!" the four horsemen echoed in unison.

Pest could clearly feel the dissatisfaction in all of them, but he didn't care.

He had finally one-upped War, and he could explore this place with the master. What more could he possibly ask for!

"Let's go, Pest!"

After saying that, Senzo turned around with Pest following right behind him, and War and the others also went toward their own direction.

"Tsk!" War couldn't help but destroy any and all trees he came across, bastard! How dare you!

He was furious; he had been outplayed by that little freak that only liked to play with diseases. How could a proud warrior like him possibly accept something like that happening?

I've gotten complacent; it looks like I'll have to step up my game! he thought, tightly grasping his blade, while he was slicing through trees like they were made of butter.

Death and Famine could clearly feel War going wild, but neither cared at this moment; this was nothing new to them.

War and Pest always tried to one-up one another; they just hoped that it wouldn't interfere with their master because if that happened, they would need to reeducate the two.
