"Master, it looks like we have company," Pest said, looking in a certain direction.
Senzo followed his line of sight and saw what Pest was looking at; behind the trees and vegetation he hadn't cleared out, monsters were hiding.
They had humanoid bodies but were much smaller and uglier, and most of all, they were completely green.
"They look like goblins to me, and even some hobgoblins," Senzo muttered, a smile appearing on his face.
Finally some normal monsters! He thought. "After those first two floors, I didn't have much hope, but it looks like this floor will at least be rather normal."
"You take the left side, Pest; I'll take the right side. But stay cautious even though they're normally very weak."
Pest nodded, and without hesitation he jumped forward; all the terrain surrounding him was rapidly decaying.
And on the tips of his fingers Senzo could see a light green glow. Looks like he's going all out.
Senzo was very satisfied with the four horsemen from the moment he gained them, but he couldn't fall behind.
He quickly jumped into the air, and with a simple wave of his hand, all the vegetation in which the monsters were hiding was blown away.
"Looks like there are quite a few, and..."
But he couldn't finish his sentence because what he saw left him stunned; there weren't only goblins hiding there. All the way in the back, he saw monsters that looked like goblins on steroids; they were massive, about the same size as War.
"Take care of yourself, Pest!" he shouted, before flying straight toward the monsters he would have to take care of.
"Don't worry about me, and quickly get rid of them!" Pest replied while rampaging through the goblins. They couldn't even approach him properly; before they could come remotely close, they would fall down and die.
And while that was going on, Pest kept charging in deeper and deeper into the enemy lines; he had to take care of as many as he possibly could so the burden on his master would decrease.
Senzo, on the other hand, was using his vector manipulation to take care of the small fry goblins so he could test out his Yin and Yang abilities against the hobgoblins.
Goblin body parts were flying everywhere; Senzo didn't even need to use his hands or anything. With just a simple thought, they were crushed or torn to pieces.
"Get over here, uggo!" he declared, pointing straight at a hobgoblin holding a crude wooden club.
It was easily a head taller than Senzo, but he didn't care; it had the ugliest facial features he had ever seen, a massive nose full of weird protrusions, and it looked like his face wasn't even symmetrical.
Senzo almost had to barf just by looking at the bastard. Let's quickly get rid of him. he mused.
But before he could charge at the hobgoblin, he saw it charge straight toward him, but that was fine as well.
It didn't matter if he made the first move or that ugly bastard did; the result would stay the same.
He quickly raised both his index and middle fingers and poured yin qi into them, forming a makeshift dagger.
The hobgoblin raised its slender arms, holding the club above its head, and without a care in the world, it swung as hard as it could, aiming straight for Senzo's face.
But Senzo was calm; when he saw the massive opening the hobgoblin left for him, he charged forward instantly, and his fingers easily penetrated the hobgoblin's tough hide.
Oh?
He easily cut the hobgoblin cleanly in half, green blood splattering everywhere. But Senzo wasn't in the mood to be drenched by such a disgusting creature's blood, and with a simple thought all the blood was easily controlled and sent flying straight at the other monsters surrounding him.
The goblins and hobgoblins didn't spare a single glance at the blood that was launched at them and charged at Senzo, all of them holding crude wooden weapons above their heads.
Senzo just rolled his eyes; as the blood pierced straight through all of those morons' bodies, they looked like Swiss cheese after the blood rain had passed.
"Dumbasses," Senzo muttered, and with a simple swing of his arm, he got rid of all the blood on his improvised sword.
He was a little surprised at how effective this makeshift yin blade was; just coating his fingers with the qi was this effective. How much stronger would it be if he imbued an actual weapon with it?
I'll need to look for a proper weapon that can handle all three Qi types.
Senzo looked around, and seeing all the nearby goblins dead, he took a glance at how Pest was doing.
"Huh?"
And to his surprise, he saw Pest standing where the goblins on steroids should have been.
"..."
He was speechless; he had hoped to try and fight at least one of them to test out how much stronger they were compared to normal goblins and hobgoblins.
Well, I didn't say he should've left any for me... but still.
Senzo could only grumble to himself and keep that in mind for the future; it looked like these horsemen loved to show off, or they were just that strong.
"Good job, Pest. Let's get outta here before more monsters show up," Senzo said, pointing north, signaling they would go that way.
"Understood!" Pest replied, walking over all the mangled corpses. He was very proud of himself for being able to get rid of all these before Senzo had the chance to do anything.
He was not a true frontline combatant like War after all; his abilities were more tailored to support and surprise attacks, like Famine.
But he did love the feeling of infecting creatures; seeing them suffer from his self-created diseases was one of the best feelings in the world.
Covered in green blood, Pest quickly made his way to where Senzo was waiting for him; he had a massive smile on his face.
Even though Senzo couldn't see his face, he saw the weird little hops Pest was doing over the corpses he had completely ruined, and he had a strange look on his face.
That's intense...
"Let's keep going," he said casually, and with a wave of his hand, all the blood sticking to Pest was removed.
"Thanks, master!"
"No problem."
