Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Speedrun 10

At the bottom of the stairs, Senzo was waiting for the other three horsemen to arrive, but even after waiting for what felt like an eternity, he still couldn't see them.

"Guess I'll have to pick them up..." he muttered.

But on second thought, it did make sense; they didn't have any movement-type abilities after all.

With a single step, he was suddenly standing in the air and used his vector manipulation to sense the location of the three, and after a short moment, he finally found them.

"If I don't pick them up, it will take quite a long time for them to arrive."

This floor was very big after all; even he and Pest needed quite some time to reach the stairs, and the others all went in completely different directions.

Senzo waved his right arm, and the three horsemen that were running at full speed suddenly felt their bodies being lifted and pulled in a certain direction faster than the speed of sound.

"Damn!" War shouted, but Death and Famine couldn't hear him because they were pulled so fast toward Senzo.

They didn't mind this feeling; running was a chore after all.

"Okay, let's go up now."

Senzo said casually, pointing at the staircase; the three of them nodded and quickly made their way up the stairs.

They could clearly see the displeasure in Senzo's eyes, but they couldn't do anything about that. If they had any movement-type abilities, they would definitely have used them.

"Heh, don't worry too much. I'm just annoyed at the layout of this damn dungeon... It's so weird; the first two floors were simple walking in a direction and killing the monsters, but now it's exploring and killing monsters..." Senzo complained, rolling his eyes.

Death chuckled, while War and Famine nodded in agreement; this was a very bizarre and diverse dungeon, but that was also the fun part.

"Well, let's hope that the next floor can be cleared quickly," War stated, slapping his chest proudly.

He had to prove himself to his master because on the previous floor he could only kill monsters, but at the end of the day he had to be helped by Senzo to quickly reach the staircase.

Can't let that happen again! he vowed to himself.

And while they were chatting and complaining, they finally arrived at the fourth floor. The moment they stepped up, War and the others saw Pest doing his thing and couldn't help but roll their eyes.

"What a freak."

"War, mind your own business; you know damn well that's a sore spot for him," Famine stated.

"Tch!"

War turned around and took a seat, making the ground shake slightly.

Famine and Death just made way for Senzo while carefully inspecting what Pest was doing; they knew his hobbies were rather peculiar, but they didn't mind it.

After the three of them, Senzo also made his way up the stairs and looked around to see what this fourth floor would be.

"..."

The moment he saw an almost identical copy of the third floor, he almost wanted to cry.

"Fuck me..." he muttered, but he couldn't complain too much.

It didn't matter if it was a chore; he had to clear the damn dungeon still. After looking at the trees surrounding them for a while, he stopped looking at them and stood next to Death and Famine.

"!!"

That's when he saw something absolutely horrifying: Pest stood in the middle of a corpse circle and was feeding a muscular goblin potions.

Senzo couldn't keep his calm, and with a single wave of his arm, he pulverized all the corpses and intestines Pest had neatly organized.

He gagged at the sight, and even after pulverizing all the corpses, this horrendous feeling didn't go away.

"What the hell is he doing?" Senzo asked no one in particular.

"It must be pretty shocking, right? Seeing it up close the first time like this," Death replied without looking at Senzo.

"Why..."

But Senzo almost couldn't put it into words; that's how disgusted he was. His good impression of Pest went straight out of the window, and now he looked at him like he was an absolute freak.

Famine nodded at Death, and the small skeleton could only sigh.

"I'll explain it to you in simple terms, but could you please give him another chance?"

"..."

The silence between them stretched for a while; it was clear that Death and Famine cared a lot about Pest. But what Senzo had just seen was absolutely not okay, and he wasn't sure if he could let Pest out ever again after this.

"I'll think about it after hearing you out; how about that?" he countered; it was just too disgusting.

"That's fine," Death muttered, a sad look on his face.

Famine stood next to him and was staring at Pest, who was completely oblivious of everything that was happening around him while feeding the green creature in front of him one potion after the other.

"As you know, Pest is related to pestilence, and because of that, he has suffered his whole life. It doesn't matter where he went; all that followed was immense suffering." As death started, he couldn't help but glance at the sky while drowning in nostalgia.

"And after who knows how many years of suffering such a fate, he decided to fully embrace it. So whenever he finds a test subject or an enemy, he becomes a little crazy, and he loves researching everything that is related to his domain of pestilence."

Senzo wanted to ask something, but he could clearly feel that Death wasn't finished yet, so he let him finish his story first.

"And after the first master created this power and brought us four brothers together, his obsession with researching and letting his test subjects suffer has only gotten worse over the years; for some reason he seems to think the more you suffer, the better the effect of his powers."

"..."

Senzo was silently observing Death and Pest at the same time, and even though War had his back turned toward them all, he couldn't help but clench his fists tightly.

War had always spoiled Pest because he could see how much he was suffering, but that turned out to be one of his biggest mistakes.

"It feels like you left out quite a bit, but I see what you're saying."

Senzo replied, a determined look in his eyes.

Death and Famine looked at him in surprise; they didn't expect their master to react like that.
