Chapter 79 - 79: Men unlike wolves

Lance's POV

The screeching of tires filled my ears, sharp and grating, and I towered outside the hall immediately. My aunt did too, anticipation rippling through us as we both knew—that sound of car tires could only mean one thing. The shadow wolves had arrived.

I exchanged a glance with her as I bolted out. I needed to know. I needed to see.

The sharp smell of urine filled my nose as I reached the driveway, where the cars transporting the men were parked. The men inside smelled of that and something else dark.

Seven cars. Only seven—though eight had left the pack.

With the shadow wolves, who were said to be massive, only two of them could fit into a single car. Five cars had been prepared for them. Two more carried my warriors, the ones who went to protect the package. And the last—Daniel's. My aunt's son, who had gone with them as well.
