Chapter 106 - 106: A revelation

Adrian's POV

I opened my eyes to find Uncle Marius opposite me, in the other cell room directly beside mine. His gaze was fixed on me, expressionless, yet so hateful that I could swear I saw a monstrous intent flicker in his eyes.

I turned my back to him and faced the other side. I was already here and locked in this damp cell, humiliated before the entire pack. My cover had almost been blown too. If not for Father's timely intervention when he'd thrown a vial of suppressants at me and ordered the guards to take me away, I would have been exposed for what I truly was. His command had maintained the illusion that I was scentless and a beta.

But what was he thinking? What was he planning to use me for this time?

He hadn't spared me out of mercy. No. He'd done it to prove to his people that I'd face punishment for disgracing the pack. And yet, he'd made it known to me that the only reason I was alive when the crowd had demanded my execution was because of his favour.
