I didn't move. I didn't blink.
It was like the air thickened around me, wrapping tight as my brain struggled to catch up. He was here—really here. No shadows this time. No eerie whispers. Just him, standing at the front of the classroom like he belonged here. This isn't allowed. Do they know what he is??
"You," I muttered under my breath.
He smirked, slow and arrogant. "Miss me?"
"Miss you? I thought I was done with you" I muttered to myself.
Oh, for the love of cursed fates and glowing eyes—Why did he have to look like that? His eyes glowing, his hair shining and with that damn smile on his face. I'm not enjoying my Monday morning anymore. He didn't take his eyes off me while the lecturer kept talking. This is bad. Someone might notice.
Why the hell is my mark burning like hell! I stopped paying attention. I thought it was gone but is definitely isn't. I'm lacking sleep, no Draken, Mr. gorgeous is here and my mark is hurting more than ever. What sort of a day is this?
Can't I have a normal day??
Around me, students kept scribbling notes, chatting, existing. No one seemed to notice that my entire reality was unraveling.
And me? I was stuck somewhere between fight, flight, or throwing my desk at his perfect face. He just stood there smiling.
The lecturer was done talking and "his Highness" was walking my way. The lights flickered and his shadows were filling up the hall. No one seemed to notice. No one but me.
"Draken's sitting here" I said with a smile as I stood on my feet.
"Who's Draken? Oh no he's crazy. He always talked to himself " comments echoed the walls.
What bothered the most was...
Who is Draken? What do they mean by that? I stood up and tried describing him but they all looked like I was blabbing nonsense. My chest tightened. They weren't joking. They kept looking at me like I'd imagined him. Was I losing it? They thought I was going mad. I thought I was going mad! Where the hell is Draken?!
His majesty made himself comfortable in Draken's seat and I kept trying to ignore him. He definitely stood out and that got everyone staring. It's a matter of time before rumours start flying around.
"What are you doing here" I asked
"Can I not be with my bride?"
"I thought you had no interest in me" I said, pointing my pen at his throat.
"Oh I do not. Everyone is worried about the prophecy." he said while he snapped my pen in half. He's strong.
I took notes and he just sat there watching me. Does this man really have no Interest in me? I kept thinking.
it's kind of hard to take notes while his scent and the humming noise were distracting me. Jeez
"will you keep doing that?" I asked while trying to write.
"what?" he whispered.
"messing with my mark. It's burning up"
I looked him dead in the eye. "Fix it" I growled, louder than I meant to. My wrist pulsed like it was on fire."
He sighed. Then it stopped. Just like that. This man seems really powerful.
"Ezra" he said. He sent chills down my spine. I didn't know what expression to give. He called my name is way I haven't. Damn.
"Yes, Your highness" I said sarcastically. "Anything the matter, sire?" He laughed and said
"I'm Zayden. Your highness is Zayden". If I wasn't in his presence I'd melt into nothingness. His tone, his scent, his voice, his eyes...he knew what he was doing talking like that.
Have I always been interested in men? I thought as I muttered "creep"
Either this was just coincidence or he can read minds but he said "I'm also not interested in men"
What a relief. I don't have anything to worry about.
Meanwhile anything is sitting right beside me.
