Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Human-Faced Demon Spider

Tang San followed.

Shi Yu teleported dozens of meters away again, temporarily widening the distance between him and the Human-Faced Demon Spider, but was soon caught up again.

"This spider is really targeting me," Shi Yu thought heavily. Constantly running away wasn't a solution.

While he was thinking, the Human-Faced Demon Spider closed the distance and stabbed a spider leg at his back.

Shi Yu used space movement again and luckily avoided the attack.

Let's try to fight it…

This time, Shi Yu no longer dodged. Facing the Human-Faced Demon Spider, he decided to fight back.

He struck with his palms at the rushing spider. Spatial energy surged, forming an impact wave that pushed the spider back several meters.

Shi Yu was surprised at his own ability. He had only wanted to test it, but he didn't expect it to work.

Now, he felt much stronger than before. He had mastered mysterious spatial energy, which he could not only use to escape but also to defend and counterattack.

The spider was also confused. This human, who had only been running before, was now fighting back?

The Human-Faced Demon Spider shrieked and charged again. The sight of the huge spider rushing at him was terrifying.

Shi Yu tried again, striking with his palms. Spatial energy produced a strong repulsion that pushed the spider back again, leaving it unable to resist.

The power of space was mysterious and difficult to guard against. The Human-Faced Demon Spider was puzzled and frustrated.

After a few more tries, Shi Yu gained confidence. It seemed he wasn't powerless after all.

He punched again, and the spatial energy turned into a fist that struck the spider. Although Shi Yu was far away, the blow landed as if he were right in front of it.

Though fierce and brutal, the Human-Faced Demon Spider wasn't afraid and continued to charge aggressively.

Shi Yu's continuous attacks affected it, but couldn't stop it. The spider fought through the energy and kept closing in.

Shi Yu teleported again to increase the distance, then unleashed continuous attacks—punches, palm strikes, long-range bursts. He didn't need to get close to deal damage.

Shi Yu was also a bit excited. Fighting like this was new to him.

The spider grew increasingly furious, becoming more resistant to the spatial attacks as it kept pressing forward.

Shi Yu felt the pressure. The Human-Faced Demon Spider wasn't as easy to deal with as he'd hoped.

Although his attacks were convenient and hit from a distance, they were relatively weak and caused limited damage. He realized that using space like water against a person took more effort than using a stone.

"This looks like a Human-Faced Demon Spider?" While fighting, Shi Yu saw the human-like face on the spider's underside and had a sudden realization.

He seemed to still be in the Douluo World, but not in Shrek Academy. He was likely in a Soul Beast Forest, facing the legendary Human-Faced Demon Spider.

Its most notable feature was the human-like face on its underside—an eerie trait that made it truly terrifying.

"The weakness of the Human-Faced Demon Spider is its face..." Shi Yu recalled.

He tried to aim his attacks at that area, but it wasn't easy. He had to flip the spider or hit it from underneath.

"I control space. Theoretically, I can attack it from any direction."

Space existed in all directions—above, below, even inside. If he truly had mastery over it, he could strike from beneath.

Shi Yu immediately tried it. He threw a punch from the ground upward, mentally targeting the space beneath the spider.

The air under the spider rippled and condensed into an energy fist that smashed into the human face below.

The spider's momentum faltered. Damage to the face was far more severe than to its shell.

"It works!" Shi Yu was thrilled.

He kept attacking. Each punch reshaped the space beneath the spider into fists that struck upward.

Bang, bang, bang... Spatial fists hit the spider's human face one after another.

The spider staggered, unable to chase or block effectively. Spatial attacks were hard to defend against, and its natural defenses were failing.

Shi Yu pushed further—he attempted to manipulate the spider's legs with space.

Spatial energy turned into giant hands that grabbed the spider's legs and pulled them apart. He pulled hard, but the spider resisted.

After a struggle, Shi Yu stumbled back. The spider's brute strength was still greater.

Enraged, the spider became even more ferocious, desperate to kill him.

Shi Yu, though, now controlled space with ease. He teleported freely and launched non-contact attacks, staying relatively safe.

Gradually, his fear of the spider faded. He continued his barrage.

Although each strike wasn't powerful, their sheer number took a toll. Dozens—hundreds—of attacks eventually left the spider's face caved in.

Tang San, watching from the shadows, was both surprised and puzzled. He didn't understand what Shi Yu's martial soul was or why his ability was so strange.

"If this continues, the Human-Faced Demon Spider will definitely die," Tang San thought, preparing himself.

The spider tried its best, but it couldn't touch the elusive Shi Yu.

Eventually, Shi Yu knocked it to the ground with a powerful blow.

The spider struggled, but repeated blows to its face left it dazed and unable to rise.

"Whew," Shi Yu exhaled in relief. The crisis was temporarily over.

"I wonder if this one will produce an external soul bone..." Shi Yu suddenly thought of the Eight Spider Lances.

Tang San had acquired his Eight Spider Lances from a Human-Faced Demon Spider. Shi Yu wondered if this one would drop something similar—an external soul bone comparable to a 100,000-year-old ring.

After a moment of hesitation, he decided to try. He attacked from a distance, hoping to kill it.

The spider was on the verge of death, heavily damaged and barely holding on.
