Chapter 69 - Aurora is Coming

Chapter 69 Writer's POV

Onyi's eyes clouded like he was struggling to remember. "I... don't know," he whispered hoarsely. "Something... happened. Dark."

Amanda's grip on his hand tightened. "It's okay. You're safe now. I'm here."

Onyi's gaze drifted around the chamber again like checking for something unseen. "Amanda... feel... strange."

Amanda leaned closer, concerned. "Strange how? Does something hurt?"

Onyi's voice was faint. "Like... shadows. Moving."

Amanda quickly put a finger to Onyi's lips to stop him talking further. "Shh, don't strain yourself. You need to rest."

Onyi's eyes lingered on Amanda's face then he nodded weakly, stopping his words.

Elsewhere in the Dungeons:

In a dark cell on another side, Aurora sat in heavy chains. Her face was scarred badly, eyes red from crying. She glared through tears at nothing in particular, hatred burning for everyone who'd wronged her.

Aurora's breathing was ragged as she muttered to herself in the darkness. "Hate them all... hate... everyone."

Tears mixed with rage kept falling down her scarred cheeks. The chains held her tight against the cold stone wall.

Aurora's hatred boiled over as she muttered to herself. Through gritted teeth and tears, she vowed aloud in the darkness.

"I'll take what's mine. I'll take back everything they that's mine. No one stops me."

Aurora's scarred face twisted in determination despite the pain and chains holding her. In her mind, plans of revenge swirled, fueled by the anger burning inside her ...

Amanda watched Onyi's breathing slow as he drifted toward sleep again, stopped from talking further. She stayed close, guarding him gently.
