As the sun rises, casting golden light over the kingdom, I'm surprised by the way Alexis is behaving toward me today. Usually, he's aloof, sometimes even cold, treating me with a distance that makes me wonder about our connection. But today, he's different. He's being kind to me, treating me with a warmth I've rarely seen from him. It's like the sunrise has brought out a new side of him.
Alexis approaches me with a small smile on his face, something I don't often see. "Good morning, Rose," he says, his voice softer than usual. I'm taken aback by the gentleness in his tone. He asks how I'm doing, genuinely interested in my response, and listens attentively as I talk about my day so far. It's a stark contrast to his usual demeanor, where he'd barely acknowledge me beyond the necessities of our being mates.
I find myself caught off guard by this change. We've been mates for a while now, but he's never been one to show much affection or interest in my day-to-day life beyond what's required of him as a mate. This sudden kindness makes me curious and a bit cautious.
