Chapter 1 - Authors arrival

An dull scene where clocks tick, teachers speak and students listen.Amidst that scenario, there was a young man, around sixteen years old and around 5.7 feet tall, with long curly hair till his ears' end. He had sleepy yet sharp eyes with no spark in them. He was wearing glasses and had a little moustache with a small beard on his chin. He was rather of average weight; he had hands that were way too small for his age—honestly, most girls had bigger hands than him. But besides that, there was nothing that one would list about his appearance.

His name was Arom Narr, and as of now, he was waiting for the boring biology class to end. While looking outside the window, he thought:"Can't the bell just ring? I'm way too tired to even listen to all of that."

As if reading his thoughts, the class ended. The young man walked off school grounds to finally rest at home.

Finally at home, he began admiring himself in the mirror:"Ah man, I just love myself."There wasn't much to love about him honestly—besides his looks, that is. His personality was utmost trash. He was a selfish, lying, fraudulent, greedy, arrogant, and a hypocritic human who only cared about his well-being.

He wanted to sleep, but then he remembered something. Today, he finally wanted to write the first chapter in his novel "The Magician of Light with a Drinking Problem." He wasn't any good with names, but that degeneracy there was just too much.

After two long hours, he was finally ready to upload it.

All of a sudden, a blue ray of light appeared before him and sucked him in.

After he was conscious again, he found himself staring at a blue, strange sky. He quickly got up and looked around. Under him was also the strange yet beautiful sky. It was as if he was standing in a glass box in the universe, just floating around.

"Oh! You're finally awake."

Arom turned around and looked at a creature with eight eyes, blue skin, and that was abnormally huge. He was shocked by what he saw, but his face was just like always—just a blank expression.

The blue-haired creature was looking at four screens at the same time, probably observing them.

Arom was contemplating what wrongdoing he had done to face this creature. Running away wouldn't bring anything—he was stuck in here with that creature.

"If you want to kill me, please make it fast!" he shouted.

"Kill you? Why would I kill you?"He now stared at Arom with a dumbfounded expression, as if Arom was joking.

"Then what do you want from me?"

"Excellent! Straight to the point—I like that," he said with a grin on his white face.

"You know the novel you wrote, The Magician of Light with a Drinking Problem? I need you to survive the world you wrote," he said, his voice full of joy.

Arom was surprised and yet worried. How would he survive something that he only wrote one singular chapter in?

He answered, "And how should I do that? I wrote only the first chapter, do not have any powers or other superhuman-like abilities, and why would you, a god, want that from me in the first place?"

"First of all, I'm not a god—I'm a human like you."

"A human? Last time I checked, humans looked a little different," Arom interrupted him while going through his hair with an expression of great curiosity.

"I might look a little different now, but I too once looked like a human. But that isn't important. I will tell you everything you want to know if you survive your own work."

"If you were to die, you wouldn't really die but forget what has happened now and live your life normally. But if you survive until the very end, you can use the powers you will get if you survive in the real world."

Arom was stunned at the fact that he was allegedly speaking to a human—but more to the fact that he could have superpowers in the real world. He always wanted something like that, for sinister reasons.

He said, "But what will happen to my appearance in the real world?"

"Great question! I will make a clone with your appearance, personality, and brain that is exactly like you. He will act like you and have the same aspirations and motivations."

"You still didn't answer my question about superpowers and other abilities and such, though," Arom said with a curious expression.

"Oh, that! Yes, you will be able to do that. And before you ask again—you yourself will continue to write The Magician of Light with a Drinking Problem novel," he explained to him.

Arom was startled by everything he was just told in that short instance of time, because not long ago he was sitting in a boring classroom while listening to the structure and function of cells—and now he would transmigrate into his own work. Out of nothing, a little smile appeared on his face. He was happy to get a chance to obtain power—but not only that, also the fact that he would finally be free in another world just made him excited, even if only a little.

The nameless eight-eyed creature called out to Arom a last time before he would send him away:"Arom, before I send you away, I give you a little gift: you will be able to understand every language spoken in that world. And also, if you have questions, ask them now—because there will not be a second time."

Arom pondered for a little, his small hands now touching his little beard. After a little silence, he broke it with a flurry of questions:"What's your name? Why did you choose me? In which epoch of time is it? Will I be the protagonist or an extra?"

The eight-eyed, sitting in a chair while having his arms crossed, seemed surprised by the flurry of questions coming from Arom. Although he did seem to watch for a good amount of time, he did not see that coming. As to why he was watching—he himself didn't know. He just found him interesting.

He now answered with a rather serious tone of voice:"First, I don't have a name—I am a nameless being. As to why I chose you—I myself don't really know. Something inside me just found you very interesting. The time epoch you live in is 1860, and no—the protagonist himself will be another existence separate from you."

Arom felt a variety of different emotions: fear of what could happen, excitement of adventures and a different world, anxiety, and many others.

It was happening. He was now getting to see the blue light appear again and getting transported into his own work.
