Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Three-Headed Dog: I’ve Never Seen Such a Despicable Trick!

How dare a mere toothpick challenge them?!

Disturbed from its slumber, Fluffy bared its fangs in a rage, its six golden eyes bulging like brass bells.

Its three heads tilted back in unison, slimy saliva whipping through the air like ropes in the wind, as it let out a furious roar—

"I'll take the first strike!"

Ethan cut off Fluffy's buildup without hesitation, waving his wand and chanting swiftly:

"Laxus!"

Three spells shot out like arrows!

Fluffy hadn't even reacted before its three heads were struck dead-on by the spells!

A precise hit!

One even landed right in one of its eyes.

"Roar—!"

Fluffy howled in pain and fury.

The sound thundered through the narrow room, echoing like rolling thunder and making Ethan's ears ring.

So powerful!

This was the first time since transmigrating that Ethan had faced such a formidable and intimidating opponent, and his heart raced uncontrollably, adrenaline surging through his veins.

The spell, which could drop an enemy in an instant, only managed to slow Fluffy down.

But that was enough.

Fluffy shook its heads, desperately trying to shake off the dizziness.

Ethan's figure was reflected in its orange eyes, which blazed with tangible wrath.

—Eat this ignorant little toothpick!!!

"Whoosh!"

Fangs tore toward Ethan, but everything seemed to unfold in slow motion, giving him plenty of time to dodge.

He wouldn't be like Snape, barging through the door only to get bitten right away.

—My turn, draw!

Ethan shifted his feet, suddenly vanishing into the portal that opened on the wall.

His figure disappeared.

"Gurgle?"

Fluffy lunged at empty air, its eyes widening in confusion as it stared at the void before it.

Where had that little toothpick gone?

Its noses twitched frantically, sniffing out the unique scent laced with nuts and minerals.

The next second.

That scent appeared above their heads!

Ethan leaped down from mid-air, landing steadily on Fluffy's back like a knight from ancient legends taming a ferocious dragon!

"Roar!!!"

Fluffy flew into an immediate rage.

They were fully grown; even their dear daddy couldn't ride on their backs!

Let alone a scrawny little toothpick!

If it weren't for those three bizarre spells that had sapped all their strength in an instant.

They would have bucked him off violently the moment that annoying little toothpick set foot on them!

Fluffy was about to twist its heads around to bite.

But just then, their feet suddenly lost purchase, and half their body plunged downward!

A large, dark pit had appeared on the ground at some point, trapping one of their legs!

Their entire body tilted instantly!

Fluffy: ???

There's actually a trap?!

What a ruthless schemer!

Indeed, Ethan's portal couldn't transport such a massive creature.

But that didn't mean he couldn't transport "a part" of it!

Question: How many steps does it take to put an elephant in a refrigerator?

On Fluffy's back.

Ethan curled his lips, staring at the off-balance Fluffy with a devilish smile.

Gotcha.

Who said the portal could only transport objects?

It could also serve as a trap to immobilize creatures!

—By the way.

When the portal closes, anything caught inside will return to its original position or be ejected.

It doesn't just snap them off like Apparition.

Ethan felt a twinge of regret.

Because if it were possible, he'd have one less cutting spell to learn.

"Final blow! Diffindo!!"

Ethan gripped Fluffy's mane with one hand, raised his wand with the other, and a righteous light burned in his cobalt-blue eyes!

Three crimson spells streaked like comets through the dim room, blasting straight up into the ceiling!

The coverage of one spell might not be enough.

What about three?

Ethan was confident he could bring the whole room down!

"Boom—!"

Like a landslide, massive chunks of rubble crashed down, smashing heavily onto Fluffy's heads!

Their already tilted body was slammed straight into the cracked floor!

"Ow!"

Fluffy wailed, and as its body struggled, sharp stones rolled off its back.

There was a reason Hogwarts had stood for so long without collapsing.

The ceiling material was incredibly durable, turning every falling rock into a critical hit.

Finally.

Fluffy struggled to rise, only to collapse back down in exhaustion, kicking up clouds of dust.

Smoke and dust billowed.

It swirled around like the thick morning fog.

The duel was over.

"Tap."

A faint sound echoed.

Ethan stepped through the swirling dust, emerging with steady, leisurely strides like a visitor from another world stepping out of a gray mist.

—The moment before the ceiling fell.

Ethan had already disarmed the trap holding Fluffy and opened a portal to whisk himself away.

He stopped in front of Fluffy's massive heads, looking down at them as they glared up at him with furious eyes.

"Roar!"

Fluffy was still roaring hoarsely, issuing threats.

However, they couldn't stand up no matter what.

Fluffy stared at the little furball in front of him.

He never would have imagined that he would be the one hunted.

He was clearly just a toothpick-sized cub, so why didn't he cry out, run around aimlessly, or cast useless magic?

Fluffy had seen many other humans.

Except for his dear daddy, none were as calm as this little toothpick in front of him.

Even the smelly human who had broken in before had stayed put, and then scurried out.

But this little toothpick had planned every step since he came in.

And executed it perfectly.

As if he never knew what fear was.

Only the thrill of battle.

And that strange door...

They had never seen any human use this kind of magic!!

Too insidious! Too despicable!

Is this still a duel?!

Fluffy felt deeply wronged; its participation in this battle had been zero.

From the beginning, it took three spells, its foot was stuck in the door and couldn't move, and finally, it was taken out by the ceiling.

It had no power to resist.

Ethan: "What a thrilling battle."

Fluffy: "..."

Bro, whatever makes you happy.

Ethan raised his wand, and in Fluffy's eyes, which now held a hint of fear, he softly chanted:

"Reparo."

Warm and immense magic lifted the stones, slotting them back into the ceiling.

Like a spring breeze, in just a few breaths, the room returned to its original state.

"Episkey."

Ethan waved his wand again, and warm magic caressed Fluffy's body.

The bleeding stopped, the cracked flesh slowly mended, and a crisp cracking sound came from within its body.

"Episkey" was originally meant only to heal minor human injuries.

But with Ethan's level of magic, it was enough to heal this big dog.

Moreover, Fluffy wasn't seriously injured.

It just couldn't stand up because of the bone fractures and the spells.

Ethan sighed in relief: "It's a good thing your skeletal structure, apart from your heads, is no different from a normal dog."

"Otherwise, your healed bones would be dislocated, haha."

Ethan laughed heartily.

Completely unaware that he had almost healed Fluffy into another species.

"..."

Fluffy shook its fur and stood up again.

It stared at the little furball in front of him with complex eyes.

This little toothpick actually healed him... What exactly does he want?

Did he just come over in the middle of the night to beat them up?

There must be another conspiracy!!!

Fluffy cautiously stared at Ethan.

It made up its mind that if this little toothpick dared to take another step forward, it would eat him in one bite!

"Ding!"

"You have successfully gained Fluffy's friendship!"

"Now, you can collect perfect quality soul fragments."

"You played with a lonely little life using magic and paintings, fully embodying the spirit of 'Art is Virtue'."

"Soul fusion increased by 1%!"
