Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Dungeon, Sea of the Living Dead!

In the game National Doomsday, equipment is divided into eight tiers:

Inferior (Gray), Common (White), Fine (Green), Excellent (Blue), Epic (Purple), Legendary (Golden), Semi-Artifact (Crimson Gold), and Artifact (Prismatic).

Semi-artifacts, second only to artifacts, are the most coveted top-tier gear!

Su Hang recalled the doomsday era:

A powerful figure from Sakura Country, Jiro Fujiwara, had obtained a semi-artifact called "Plague Death Knell" from a dungeon.

Wielding this weapon, he tyrannized Sakura Country, declaring himself its ruler. He even led hordes of like-minded evil players in massacring tens of thousands of Dragon Country citizens.

This atrocity enraged Dragon Country, and its strongest warriors united to slay him.

Back then, Su Hang had burned with righteous fury and joined the campaign against Jiro.

But with his limited strength, he'd only served as backup, yet still nearly perished under the "Plague Death Knell's" massive AOE attacks.

Now, though the semi-artifact's stats on the rankings were hidden, Su Hang was certain—whether it was a weapon or armor—it would be terrifying.

The weekly rankings would reset in half a day. Su Hang resolved to splurge immediately and claim the semi-artifact.

After checking the recharge menu, he realized buying gene potions directly was a poor deal.

Instead, he navigated to the "Sea of the Living Dead" event page—it had the highest drop rate for gene potions.

A flash of white light signaled the scene was loaded.

Su Hang found himself on a vast floating platform.

Below stretched a churning black sea, so vast it inspired dread.

But Su Hang knew: this was no ordinary ocean.

The "Sea of the Living Dead" event was a monster-slaying dungeon.

Open once weekly, what appeared as a dark sea was in reality a tide of screaming, 嘶吼 ing zombies.

Common zombies, mutated zombies, zombie lords—all swarmed here.

From the platform, hundreds of millions of rotting heads stared upward in unison. It was a hellish spectacle.

Most players saw this as an endless zombie grinder.

But Su Hang knew the zombies had a finite number—they could all be killed.

In the doomsday era, this very "Sea" materialized in reality,

Appearing in the heart of Lighthouse Country, turning the Mississippi Basin into a zombie paradise.

It nearly annihilated Lighthouse Country. Only its strongest warriors held back the hordes, buying time for civilians to flee.

Even so, Lighthouse Country struggled until the seventh year after the doomsday,

When an elite team, armed with powerful gear, finally purged the "Sea of the Living Dead" nest.

After slaying every zombie, they claimed the ultimate treasure chest!

Su Hang had studied their full strategy logs—he knew exactly how to claim the dungeon's highest rewards.

He'd once regretted not joining that elite team, coveting their spoils.

Now, with all the pieces in place, he wouldn't miss this chance.

A thought crossed Su Hang's mind.

He turned to a holographic screen beside the platform, labeled "Points Shop."

In this dungeon, every 100 common zombies or 10 mutated zombies killed gave a 1% chance to drop a treasure chest.

Chests contained gene potions, nanomaterials, and other items.

But chests could also be exchanged unopened for points in the shop,

Which bought exclusive gear like:

Bloody Golf Club (Vampiric Aura)Unbreakable, Max Speed Physics Holy SwordMerciful Gatling Bodhisattva...

Su Hang had just entered the weekly dungeon, so his points totaled zero—he couldn't afford a single item.

Yet he smiled.

National Doomsday's defining feature was its pay-to-win model.

Naturally, the points shop had a recharge button.

Yes: points could be bought directly with money.

For Su Hang, money solved everything.

"If I can pay, I won't hold back!"

"I'll buy every top-tier item in the shop!"

As Su Hang recharged,

Dozens of players already swarmed the "Sea of the Living Dead."

They gunned down zombies and mutants pouring from a central hive.

Each player occupied their own floating platform, hovering low,

Mowing down hordes with gunfire, bombs, flamethrowers—staying safely out of reach.

But among them stood one figure defying this strategy.

A red-haired girl in form-fitting fiber armor, wielding a longsword, cutting through zombies in close combat. She was a one-woman army.

Her platform hovered mere meters above the "sea,"

Letting the zombie tide crash against her like a wave. With each swing, she carved a path through them.

Her blade moved with the force of a mountain avalanche, each strike roaring like a tiger, splitting the air.

Zombies within dozens of meters were shredded.

She stood firm amid the chaos, a immovable boulder against the tide.

Several veteran Dragon Country players watched, awestruck.

"No wonder Luo Jiutian's the leader of the Red Tassel Guild—she fears no close combat!"

"Red Tassel only recruits women, yet she's pushed them to rank 2 in our server, 7th worldwide!"

"If she let men join, they'd dominate the server—maybe even top 3 globally!"

Their gazes lingered on her gear and weapon.

"That's the Epic-grade 'Crimson Tiger Howl Blade'—each swing sounds like a tiger's roar. Devastating power!"

"Luo Jiutian's stunning, curvaceous... and with her strength and gear, she's filthy rich."

"She's the ultimate badass rich beauty. I'd let her walk all over me for a chance with her!" one scrawny player joked.

The others laughed.

"With your scrawny frame? You'd last a day!"

"Someone like her deserves a tycoon. Lucky's the man who wins her over."
