Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Kasumigaoka Utaha's bedroom wasn't very large, but it was warm and tastefully decorated. The atmosphere gave off a gentle, comforting vibe.

On the white computer desk sat her ever-present red notebook, and in the corner of the room was a small bed that gave off a faint, pleasant scent. Normally, Kurosawa Ren might have let his imagination run wild, picturing what his gorgeous girlfriend did in that very bed every day.

But not today.

After everything strange and terrifying he had just experienced, there wasn't a trace of romantic mood left in him.

Drying his wet hair with a towel, Ren opened a digital panel hovering in front of him—something he hadn't had time to examine earlier.

[Current System Template: FGO Summon System Version 1.0][Initial version fully loaded. Future updates to include new features—stay tuned!][Host: Kurosawa Ren][Age: 17][First Initialization—Loading additional data...]

In the corner of his vision, a small animated creature began to run—a cute little animal named "Fou" familiar to every Fate/Grand Order fan.

The tiny beast kept running as the system loaded. After several long seconds, the interface finally filled out with content:

Master Info

Personal Space

Summon Heroic Spirit

Story Dungeon (Locked)

"This layout… it's all too familiar," Ren muttered, narrowing his eyes.

The interface was classic Fate/Grand Order. Four large, distinct icons sat on a plain blue background. The design and functions were just as he remembered from the game.

Ren gave a wry smile.

Of course he knew this mobile game. It was infamous among anime fans for being a bottomless money pit—full of bitter memes like "1,000 Quartz, No 5-Star," "No Guarantee on Your Waifu," and "Kryptonite for Your Wallet."

He remembered exactly why he quit.

Because of Uncle Chen from the national server constantly nerfing his favorite characters, especially his beloved Scathach, Ren had rage-quit in protest.

It still stung a little.

He clicked on [Master Info], which simply displayed his basic personal data without any detailed stats or attributes like strength or endurance.

The [Summon Heroic Spirit] tab, on the other hand, was the meat of the system—just like in the original game. It was where players could pull rare characters and gear from randomized draws.

In the original game, there were two gacha pools:

A Story Pool, which required premium currency

A Friendship Pool, which used in-game points for low-tier items and characters

Ren's system, however, didn't bother with the consolation-prize Friendship Pool. It had only one draw method—the premium Story Pool. But right now, he had no currency at all.

Disappointed, he was about to close the interface when he noticed something flashing in the [Personal Space] tab.

"Huh? What's this?"His eyes lit up with curiosity.

Clicking into [Personal Space], he saw a clean grid layout similar to an in-game inventory screen. There were only two gift boxes inside:

System Maintenance Compensation

New Player 10x Summon Voucher

"Jackpot!"

Ren couldn't hide his excitement. Not only had he earned a summoning ticket from defeating the spider spirit earlier, but he now had 11 draws total!

He immediately clicked the summon interface and selected a 10x draw.

[Draw Results:]

Gift: Moon Spirit Marrow Fluid ×1

Gift: Motorcycle – Armored Cavalry ×1

Gift: Red-Black Key ×1

Gift: Green-Black Key ×2

Gift: Blue-Black Key ×1

Spirit Origin Fragment – Arthur Pendragon ×1

Gift: Projection Magic ×1

Gift: Reed Sea ×1

Gift: Mana Meter ×1

3x Red Dragon Hearts; Projection Magic +20%

"Old Saber?! No way, I actually pulled him?"

As he stared at the rotating card, a mysterious swordsman appeared—hooded, dignified, and unmistakably familiar.

Arthur Pendragon.

First introduced in Fragments of Blue and Silver, this gender-swapped version of the classic Saber character embodied noble virtue and strength—a knight among knights. Known as the "Red Dragon of Britain," this Arthur was revered as the star-blessed King of Knights.

[Do you wish to inherit the Spirit Origin of Arthur Pendragon?]"Yes!" Ren confirmed without hesitation.

Suddenly, a wave of intense pain washed over him.

It felt like his chest was about to burst. His heart pounded wildly, threatening to explode from his ribs. Ren collapsed onto the bed, gritting his teeth and enduring the flood of power surging through his body.

And just like that, the pain stopped.

Panting heavily, he wiped the sweat from his forehead with a towel and shakily reopened the system panel.

[Innate Skills:]

Intuition (A): Senses optimal strategy during battle

Mana Burst (A): Emits high-output magical energy

Beast Slayer (A): Grants bonus damage against giant monsters

[Noble Phantasms:]

Wind-King Barrier (Invisible Air): A magic sheath to conceal and protect

Excalibur – Sword of Promised Victory: Holy sword of radiant destruction

"I actually got the Red Dragon Heart? First try?" Ren blinked, still reeling from the transformation.

The Red Dragon Heart wasn't just any enhancement—it was practically a nuclear reactor of magic. Merlin himself had once called it a magic furnace. With each breath, it generated overwhelming magical energy.

Combined with Excalibur's built-in recovery and defense, it meant his body would constantly regenerate—even from fatal wounds.

It was basically a real-life cheat code.

"The only downside…" he muttered, "is that this is still a limited version of Old Saber."

The current Excalibur was only partially unlocked. In lore, the sword had 13 magical seals, each increasing its power.

To unlock its full potential, he'd have to draw and acquire all five of Old Saber's artifact upgrades from the system—an obvious bait to keep players grinding.

Still, he didn't mind.

In fact, Ren kind of liked the system's logic.

The original Saber was too pure, too restrained by honor and chivalry. He didn't want to be held back by morality when facing literal demons.

He wanted full, unrestricted power.

Buzz…

As if responding to his inner thoughts, a message flashed in front of him:

"KRYPTON GOLD MAKES YOU STRONGER."

A tiny gloved hand appeared onscreen, pointing eagerly at the recharge button.

Ren stared at it.

"...Does it really?" he whispered.

His finger hovered for a moment—Then clicked Confirm.
