Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Senator

Senator Cornwallus felt his blood boil with anger as he listened to the report. That damn Colonel had the audacity to shoot two of his choppers out of the sky! He would pay, and he would pay dearly. He had been warned to stay out of this.

"You are the one who shall pay," a woman's voice said coldly.

He jerked around, scowling as a some kind of freak show stood watching him like he was a piece of refuse. She wore a long robe that clung tightly to her thighs, and her long dark hair was wrapped in a shiny material that cascaded past her shoulders.

As he looked into her eyes, his scowl vanished, and he hurriedly backed up until he ran into the wall. Those eyes, colder than an Antarctic wind, pinned him to the wall like a bug.

"You cost a dozen men their lives this night," she said in a voice thick with contempt. "Though I can see that is the least of your crimes. Goodbye, Senator."

He had time to scream once before everything exploded in white hot pain. Then everything was gone, including the Senator.
