Chapter 3 - The Decline of the Meng Family

In the dark room, Yuto took a deep breath. Each movement cost him considerable effort, and the pain that radiated from his weakened body was stinging and throbbing. He knew that he had barely emerged from a coma of more than two years, and the reality of his condition hit him hard. He had to pull himself over. His family, the Meng Clan, was facing challenges that few could imagine, and it was time for him to understand his place in this world.

Meanwhile, the physicist, after advising the valet to make sure Yuto was resting, left the Meng domain. He had warned Ju Won, the faithful valet, that the young master needed all the attention possible to preserve his body. Yuto had to drink Gotu kola tea and consume plants such as Bacopa monnieri and Ginkgo biloba, considered essential for rehabilitation. With a worried face, Ju Won nodded with understanding.

-Thank you for this advice. I will ensure that the young master receives all the necessary care.

Once outside the domain, the physicist turned his gaze to the setting sun, a feeling of sadness arose.

-Ju Won, I'm afraid this family can't survive here in Shexian. With the consequences of the war and the loss of their prestige, it would be better for them to move away from this city and family.

Ju Won straightened up, defying the weight of his worries.

-I will stay with the Meng family until my last breath, regardless of the circumstances. I am loyal to them and proud to serve.

His voice was firm, reassuring. Despite the decline, he found comfort and pride in his tasks, even in the most difficult times. He closed the door behind him and went back inside to prepare tea and soup for Yuto. Each gesture was full of respect and love for the young master, strengthening the bond that united them.

In his room, Yuto, with great difficulty and surrounding pain, stood up, leaning on the table near his bed. An ink stone was waiting for him, and he knew he had to put on paper everything he knew about this new life. Memories, both disturbing and enlightening, poured in.

He wrote:

- **Name: Yuto Meng. **

- **Third son of Yeong Meng**, the head of the Nascent Soul family**, level 13.

- **Current cultivation: none

- **Big brothers:**

- **Yong-sun Meng**: Cultivation, Body Refinements, level 8.

- **Hyundai-shik Meng**: Cultivation, Body Refinements, level 9.

- **Mother: Seo-ah**, Cultivation, Nascent Soul, level 10.

- **The patriarch: Nascent Soul, level 15**, seriously injured and imprisoned on the mountain of the Cangshan family.

Each written word contains more its heritage, a legacy in decline, but not yet lost. He felt the weight of responsibility by understanding that the survival of his family depended not only on the strength of his members, but also on the way they navigated the tumultuous waters.

Yuto's gaze is lost in the void as he remembers the dangers that surrounded them. Their family had been preserved by the strength and power of their patriarch, but with the clear signs of decline, everything could collapse like a house of cards. He knew that if the patriarch were to die, the Meng family would risk being erased from history, considered an easy target by their enemies.

Yuto straightened up, determined. The only way to restore the honor of his family was cultivation. He had to progress. The ascent into the cultivation levels was not only a personal quest, but a vital necessity to save his clan.

At this very moment, deep in him, a new flame lit up. It was a mixture of hope and responsibility.
