Ten thousand years had passed, yet the political system of the Star Luo Empire remained unchanged—it was still an absolute monarchy.
Back then, the Douluo Federation had grown powerful, showing signs of unifying the entire continent. Knowing they stood no chance, the Star Luo Empire had no choice but to set sail in search of a new land. After defeating the native inhabitants, the empire's main forces reestablished their nation on the newfound continent, naming it Star Luo Continent. They abandoned their territories on the Douluo Continent and migrated en masse to Star Luo, bringing with them vast populations and resources.
Bai Xu and Na'er walked down the bustling streets. These days, the Star Luo Emperor, Dai Tianling, was preparing for a grand national ceremony, so the atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter and cheer as if it were the New Year.
Since ascending the throne, Dai Tianling had been hailed as a visionary ruler, dedicating himself to governance and leading the empire into an era of rapid development. The century-old rebel organization, the Green Skull, had been suppressed to the brink of collapse under his reign, barely clinging to survival.
The attack Tang Wulin and the others had faced was orchestrated by members of the Green Skull.
After strolling around for a while, Bai Xu and Na'er arrived at the Spirit Pagoda in Star Luo City. Their purpose for coming here was to resolve their identity issues.
*
Spirit Pagoda – Star Luo Branch.
"Hello, I'm Bai Xu, a recently transferred Spirit Master. This is my certification from the Federation's headquarters."
The staff member, seeing the headquarters' credentials, greeted them warmly and asked them to wait briefly while she verified the information.
The process was efficient—less than three minutes later, the staff member returned and said, "Hello, Spirit Master Bai Xu. We've confirmed your transfer records. Here is your branch certification. As per protocol, your headquarters' credentials are now invalidated. Please keep this safe."
Bai Xu accepted the new identification and left.
"Where are we going now?" Na'er asked.
"Would you like to watch the Youth Soul Master Exchange Tournament they're hosting? Gu Yue will likely be participating, and so will your brother," Bai Xu replied.
"Not really," Na'er refused without hesitation.
"Then let's leave. Plane Spirit..." Bai Xu called for its presence.
The Plane Spirit understood immediately. "Please head northwest, deep into the inland regions."
"Got it."
Once they left Star Luo City, Bai Xu and Na'er began their journey—one riding a golden sword low above the ground, the other soaring on dragon wings, as if completely free.
After absorbing part of the Dragon God's remnant soul, Na'er's essence had grown significantly, her innate talents restored. The Silver Dragon Spear had reappeared in her hands.
Unlike Bai Xu, who remained calm as he sensed his own changes, Na'er was relishing this rare opportunity to roam freely. She darted through the clouds one moment and flew close behind Bai Xu the next, her face lit with an unbroken smile.
It was as if she had cast off all restraints, living purely for herself. There were no schemes, no covetous eyes, no responsibilities—no longer existing as the other half of the Silver Dragon King, but simply as Na'er.
"You seem happy?" Bai Xu asked.
"Yes. I'm different from Gu Yue—I don't have her sense of responsibility. Before, I only cared about my brother and never once considered the dragon race. What you said back then was right—everything I have was given to me by Gu Yue, so it's only fair that I contribute to the dragon race. I won't run away anymore."
She paused, then added softly, "When everything is over, if possible, I'd rather..."
Before she could finish, Na'er realized something was wrong. Though she had absorbed the Dragon God's remnant soul to strengthen her essence, she... had no future.
Na'er fell silent, gliding quietly through the air.
From high above, she cast a deep glance at Bai Xu. Right now, monitoring his every move was her way of fulfilling her duty.
Bai Xu's actions were of immense importance—she had to report everything accurately to Gu Yue.
And that was exactly what she did.

Star Luo Empire Capital.
Gu Yue's eyes suddenly gleamed as she murmured, "Northwest of Star Luo?"
She then sent a mental transmission: "The information isn't enough. Keep going."
Feeling the voice echo in her mind, Na'er's violet eyes dimmed. She descended slowly, landing beside Bai Xu.
"Why did you stop flying? Feeling sad?" Bai Xu asked, thinking she had accidentally touched on her own sorrow.
Na'er smiled bitterly and nodded.
There was nothing Bai Xu could do about it. Unless someone with immense power could mend her essence, Na'er would eventually have to return to Gu Yue.
They traveled swiftly.
By nightfall, the two arrived at a small, underdeveloped town in the remote northwest, planning to rest there for the night. The town was modest, with few tall buildings. The strongest soul master in the area was only a five-ringed Soul King. Surrounding the town were several villages, housing tens of thousands of people.
Na'er had concealed her appearance throughout the journey to avoid unnecessary trouble.
"Welcome, Spirit Master. Two rooms will cost 500 coins," the innkeeper said with a smile.
Bai Xu glanced at the local currency in his hand. He had to thank Gu Yue for her thoughtfulness—Star Luo's currency was different from the Federation's and wasn't interchangeable. It was rare for her to lend him money, let alone prepare Star Luo's coins in advance.

Perhaps due to fluctuations in fate's flow, even the Plane Spirit failed to detect the impending danger.
The moon was shrouded by dark clouds as a group of black-robed figures, well-prepared, hovered high above on flying soul tools, gazing down at the town's countless lights.
One of them knelt mid-air and reported to their leader, "Sir, all squads are ready. Each is led by a Soul King—no one will escape."
The leader chuckled darkly. "Good! This is our tribute to the Netherworld Emperor. But leave a few survivors—let them spread the news."
His name was Chou Zhiyi, a 79th-ranked Assault-type Soul Sage with the Netherworld Sword as his martial soul. He cultivated using the death energy of humans and had once been rescued by the Netherworld Emperor, one of the Two Emperors of the Holy Spirit Cult, during a Star Luo Empire purge. Since joining the cult, he had idolized the Netherworld Emperor, even memorizing his life's deeds.
And so, today, he sought to emulate the Netherworld Emperor's past actions—massacring thousands.
"Some once said that the Netherworld Douluo, Haluosa, was heaven's punishment upon humanity—for destroying the environment, for ruining the world."
"Those words were true. What our Holy Cult does now is enacting heaven's will!"
"Back then, at just 19 years old, the Netherworld Emperor stood at the Soul Douluo realm and slaughtered over 60,000 to ascend to Titled Douluo. Today, I follow in his footsteps—with 30,000 lives as the price, I shall break through to Soul Douluo, perhaps even beyond the 85th rank."
"These maggots dare to live openly in this world? Ridiculous."
"Today, we cleanse the world of its filth!"
"Long live the Holy Cult!"
His subordinates echoed fervently, "Long live the Holy Cult!"
The black-robed figures dispersed, each moving to carry out their orders.
Though the Netherworld Emperor was the Holy Spirit Cult's overseer in the Star Luo Empire, he had rarely appeared in public since being severely wounded by the previous Sea God Pavilion Master and nearly killed by the Light and Darkness Douluo, Long Yue. Now, having reached the Quasi-God realm, he had joined the cult solely to shed falsehoods and attain true divinity.
The Demon Empress had once approached him, revealing her plan to establish a divine realm—cooperating with the Abyss, then devouring both the Abyss and Douluo to forge their own godly world.
He found the idea feasible, but recently, something had displeased him. The Ghost Emperor and the Spirit Pagoda had collaborated to deploy a twelfth-ranked Godslaying Soul Bomb to obliterate Shrek Academy.
This angered him. A place like Shrek deserved to be slaughtered by his own hands—its geniuses turned into nourishment for his ascension to godhood. Only then could he avenge the wounds inflicted by the Heaven's Chosen Douluo.!
