The moment Zhong Family's Third Son saw that Title Douluo from the Evil Soul Master faction, he knew there was no escape. Though he had no concrete evidence to prove Bai Xu possessed a triple martial soul, that didn't stop him from piquing the interest of an Evil Soul Master Title Douluo.

So, he confidently declared that Bai Xu had a triple martial soul.

Most other evil soul masters would have doubted him and ignored the claim, but the one who had come was an exceptionally ambitious Title Douluo. Even within the Holy Spirit Cult, very few knew that he himself possessed twin martial souls.

Yan Jie, one of the current Title Douluos of the Holy Spirit Cult, publicly wielded the Bone-Devouring Demon Scorpion as his martial soul. His second, hidden martial soul was the Substitute Puppet.

After being recruited into the Holy Spirit Cult, he had worked tirelessly for the organization, appearing utterly loyal—until he obtained the ninth soul skill of his second martial soul. That skill changed everything.

The ninth soul skill of the Substitute Puppet wasn't a formidable offensive ability, but it was one of the most feared skills of all—Ninth Soul Skill: Life Substitution.

In other words, Yan Jie could assume another's identity, living as them, inheriting their martial soul, talents, status, and everything else.

But the opportunity could only be used once, and the activation conditions were extremely strict: it had to be performed when the target was completely off guard. Thus, he had never used it, waiting instead for the perfect young genius to appear.

And now, perhaps he had finally found him.

As the stinger of the Bone-Devouring Demon Scorpion pierced Zhong Family's Third Son's skull and began consuming his memories, Yan Jie caught glimpses of fragmented images—a faint silhouette standing in the sky, stepping on a golden sword while holding another in hand.

The young man's words became reality. With a single utterance of "Crimson Fire," an incoming soul skill was burned to ashes, yet not a single soul ring had lit up. A flash of lightning, and the golden sword took the head of a Soul Emperor. Another phrase—"Azure Wood"—and the earth seemed to erupt with a surging forest, endless vines spreading wildly. Such a large-scale technique couldn't possibly be executed so effortlessly.

Yet this child had done it.

At this point, whether Bai Xu truly had a triple martial soul no longer mattered. Yan Jie was deeply intrigued. Before the boy grew too powerful, he would assess whether he was worthy of becoming the target of his ninth soul skill's substitution.

If he truly had a triple martial soul, then Yan Jie would be the one to complete the path to godhood!

Star Luo Continent, Near the Coastal Port.

"Over here!" Gu Yue waved toward two figures in the crowd.

Elder Cai and Wu Zhangkong watched from a distance while Gu Yue and the others reunited.

The Shrek Seven Monsters gazed into the distance, hoping to catch sight of their captain returning among the crowd. But even as the ship prepared to depart and the throng of people thinned, the familiar figure they longed to see never appeared.

Bai Xu's ticket for this high-class international cruise had been booked and paid for by Gu Yue—there was no way he could have afforded it himself.

"Bai Xu, have you noticed that you're constantly in debt?" Gu Yue asked.

"Hmm… now that you mention it, yeah. I still owe Teacher Leng tens of millions of federal coins, and I owe you a lot too… but I can't pay it back right now."

"At least you're self-aware… You could repay me with yourself. Consider it compensation," Gu Yue teased.

"No way. Debts are debts—I'll pay you back the money eventually. Compensation is a separate matter."

"You—"

"Bai Xu." A hoarse voice interrupted their conversation. It was Elder Cai. She and Wu Zhangkong stood nearby, studying Bai Xu, Na'er, and Gu Yue with meaningful expressions.

"Greetings, Silver Moon Douluo. Greetings, Teacher Wu." Bai Xu bowed slightly.

"Sigh… Fine. For this return trip, you'll accompany us with Na'er. Once we reach Shrek, you'll meet with the Pavilion Master. Whether you can take Na'er away depends entirely on your performance."

"Understood."

Elder Cai was somewhat puzzled. She couldn't discern Na'er's current cultivation level or stage. The girl's beauty was peerless, her aura pure and elegant—completely different from her state during Shrek's darkest period. It was as if she had returned to being the Dragon Spear Goddess of the past.

"Na'er, come with me." Elder Cai and Wu Zhangkong walked away, intending to speak with Na'er privately.

Na'er smiled at Bai Xu before following.

The group boarded the cruise ship and embarked on their journey home.

Tang Wulin would remain buried for three years. One year had already passed, leaving two more. The gap in cultivation caused by missing these golden years could be mitigated by his Golden Dragon King bloodline when compared to his peers—but against Bai Xu, it simply wouldn't be enough.

The difference between him and Bai Xu would only grow wider, until it became an insurmountable chasm.

---

Elder Cai's Room.

"Na'er, be honest with me. When did you arrive in the Star Luo Continent?" Elder Cai asked kindly.

"A few days after you all arrived. I sneaked out to find Bai Xu on my own."

"You… like him?"

"Yes."

"Do you know that Gu Yue also likes him? And that he likes Gu Yue too?" Elder Cai frowned, studying the girl with a strange expression.

But Na'er's response left both Elder Cai and Wu Zhangkong stunned.

She smiled. "I know. He likes Gu Yue—but he also likes me. And I like him."

!!!!

Elder Cai was utterly shocked. Even Wu Zhangkong's perpetually icy expression cracked, his eyes widening in disbelief. While the Federation had no strict marital laws—and it wasn't uncommon for powerful individuals to have multiple spouses—strong women typically possessed immense pride, unwilling to share their partners. Perhaps due to their high cultivation, most top-tier experts devoted themselves to one person for life.

"Sigh… You'll have to discuss this with the Pavilion Master. I can't intervene. What about your talent now?" Elder Cai pressed.

"It's fully restored—stronger than ever!" Na'er didn't hide anything. She summoned her Silver Dragon Spear, revealing five soul rings: Purple, Purple, Purple, Black, Black. She was already a Soul King—and a one-word battle armor master.

"This… this is…" Elder Cai was speechless.

"Elder Cai, Bai Xu helped me recover my talent. During our time together, we experienced many things. We came across a celestial herb—he didn't take it for himself, but gave it to me. Even when I lost my talent, he never looked down on me. That's why I believe he's someone worth entrusting my life to. Just like… Master and Mistress."

The sincerity and happiness in Na'er's smile were undeniable. And her mention of "Master and Mistress" struck a deep chord in Elder Cai's heart.

She had harbored unrequited feelings for Yun Ming for years—just like Sky Phoenix Douluo Leng Yaozhu.

For a fleeting moment, she wished Yun Ming could have been more like Bai Xu—capable of loving more than one.

"Very well. I'll report this to the Pavilion Master. You may go now. Wu Zhangkong, you may leave as well." Elder Cai's voice was heavy with sorrow.

Why could Gu Yue and Na'er coexist peacefully, even standing by Bai Xu's side together in public, while she and the others couldn't?

Was it Yun Ming's fault for being too devoted?

Or was Bai Xu's charm simply too irresistible?

None of that mattered now. Their lives were already filled with regrets—but at least the younger generation could find happiness.

With a heavy heart, Elder Cai dialed Yun Ming's soul communicator.
