"Are you sure you're alright?" came a concerned inquiry from his new mother. Her name was Mebuki Haruno.
"Don't worry dear. He's just excited for the academy." Beside her sat a burly man, named Kizashi Haruno. That was Mebuki's husband and his father.
Both were ordinary civilians with the most unordinary hairstyles. Mebuki's was tame, at least in comparison to Kizashi. He had dark pink hair styled like a five-corner star.
Sukuna, now he was referring to himself like that since it was important to get used to it—was struggling not to stare at those strange hairstyles and to behave normally in front of his new parents as much as he could.
"I'm telling you, Mom, he didn't faint or anything. Idiot must have slept on the floor, forgot to even go to bed." A snarky reply, unintentionally helping him distract his parents' scrutinizing eyes.
The last member of the family was of course his sister, and a major character of this anime he had landed into. Sakura Fucking Haruno.
Yup… he was in the Naruto world, and yup, he was none other than Sakura's brother of all people. Twins, to be exact.
"That explains the pink hair," he mused.
Rolling his eyes in complete disinterest at his new sister's attempt to throw dirt at his existential crisis, he turned back to the couple and said,
"I'm fine, just didn't sleep well last night."
"Hmm, too excited for the academy, I believe. Haha… don't worry. You both will be fine," Kizashi smiled.
He too nodded with a smile, trying to act as normal as he could.
Though he had passed out due to the backlash of memories hitting him all at once, he now at least knew where he was, who he was, and lastly, what made him special.
He had the powers of Ryomen Sukuna.
An overpowered character from yet another shonen anime. JJK or Jujutsu Kaisen was an anime that was rather similar to Naruto in many ways.
Naruto itself is a world full of powerful ninja who can use ninja magic, or Ninjutsu to be exact.
From breathing fire to walking on walls and water, and much more—it's all possible in this world due to the existence of chakra. It's the world's power system.
Unfortunately for him, he realised something utterly infuriating just as he woke up. Ryomen Sukuna is a character from the JJK world and doesn't possess chakra—and neither does he.
Once he woke up, he got Sukuna's memories and his power. Only then did he realise that the blue aura-like power earlier was Cursed Energy. And the reason it was radiating earlier was because of his emotional fluctuation. Unlike chakra, cursed energy requires a big hold on one's emotions.
This realisation alone was enough to send him back to unconsciousness once again. Without chakra, he was a fodder. An utter fodder.
Only waiting for someone to cut open his neck outright, like a lamb to be slaughtered. The only saving grace here was that he was born in Konoha, one of the strongest hidden ninja villages, so he was relatively safe.
"No… no, stay positive. It's not all that bad," he muttered to himself as thoughts of the incoming future started to haunt him.
Ryomen Sukuna is not bad. In fact, he was the strongest character from the JJK world. Even in this world, Sukuna with his power could easily climb up to a Kage-level entity.
Practically nothing by the endgame Naruto, however, Kages are still ridiculously strong shinobi. Even a hidden village like Konoha—a proper big shinobi village—and there were only four others out there to be called proper beside Konoha, couldn't produce Kage-level shinobi that easily.
And it's not like cursed energy can't be used like chakra… If his luck worked out, then maybe, just maybe, both chakra and cursed energy could work the same and he could do Ninjutsu?
"Chakra Extraction: Passed…
"Taijutsu: Above Average…
"Shuriken Throw: Average…
"Physical Fitness: Above Average…
"There, all done. You can go in now," said a teacher as he tested both his and his sister's aptitudes after they finally made it to the academy.
This was the first day of the academy and the selection left him baffled. Was the teacher an idiot?
Upon being asked to try and draw chakra, he wasn't sure what to do. His memories told him that his body was an exact copy of Yuji Itadori with Sukuna's power. He didn't have Sukuna's tattoos and he even lacked those extra eyes which Yuji gained after Sukuna got into his body.
"Why Yuji though?" he pondered, and the only thought coming to his mind was that maybe Sukuna's body type wasn't available here in this world.
"Four arms and four eyes… it does make sense," he mused.
Ultimately, he was sure that there was no way he could draw chakra.
His body wasn't suitable for that.
Then how come he could? At least he was a little hopeful that might as well be the case, but soon he realised what had happened. The Chunin assisting the kids mistook his cursed energy for chakra.
"Don't know what to say? This does save me from being thrown into your average class, unlike the elite section where most clan heirs like his sister would go." This also saves him from the future annoyance of someone realising that someone was born without chakra in this world, since every living being, even plants and animals, have chakra.
That would be a bad outcome indeed. A certain snake sannin's face flashed in front of him and shivers went down his spine.
Being experimented upon was not on his bucket list for this reincarnation. Thank you.
Deciding to shut his mind, he just made his way inside the class. Only to find a bunch of children making noise.
Many of the children he didn't know, and didn't plan on knowing either. He had no interest in playing with kids. However, he did recognise a few faces.
Lazy Shikamaru, Chubby Choji, Pretty Ino, Emo Sasuke, Stoic Shino, Loud Kiba, Shy Hinata and finally…
"Where's our residential knucklehead?" Sukuna looked around, trying to spot the iconic blond hair of the protagonist, but he wasn't there.
He saw Sakura immediately flaunting toward Ino and both glaring their eyes out at Sasuke. Dude looked like a girl, honestly, that's how cute he looked at this age.
Sigh…
Looking around, he found a seat near Choji and Shikamaru. So he just made his way to them.
"You mind if I sit here?" he asked Choji, who was still munching on his potato chips. And this one looked like a little panda.
"Sure." That's all he said before getting back to his chips.
Chips must be very important for him to shorten his answer like that. Shaking his head at the antics of this character, Sukuna just sat down.
On the side, he saw Shikamaru glance at him, but he just ignored the lazy Nara for the time being.
There would be enough time to make friends later. For now, he wished to just be left alone with the annoyance of having to go to school again.
"Settle down, I'll be your homeroom teacher. My name is Iruka Umino. Soon the classroom door opened and in came a chunin with a mark on his nose. This was, of course, Naruto's teacher at the ninja academy, and so now he was his as well.
"Let's start with the introductions. One by one, stand up and say your name and your goal for the future," Iruka asked, making the murmuring of the class die down.
Children started introducing themselves. He ignored most of it—he knew everyone important enough already.
His mind was more focused on the memories he got.
"I got Sukuna's power and his memories. However, not his skills." Unlike what he thought earlier, this wasn't some template-style system which gave him a certain character's powers.
He already had everything Sukuna needed to become the strongest. That blue aura this morning and that shockwave—that was cursed energy, and a very powerful one at that.
Sukuna had immense cursed energy, almost bottomless, and now he had that too. No downgrade or anything. Seeing how the cursed energy reserves of a Jujutsu sorcerer are predefined at birth, it's understandable.
Unlike chakra, this reserve doesn't grow. However, one can refine how they use their technique to be more efficient.
And that's what he was lacking. That skill.
He has that immense, cursed energy. He has Sukuna's shrine power—both Dismantle and Cleave. He even has memories of how to use them.
However, having all the ingredients, having flames and knives, and having memories of how to make a dish doesn't exactly make someone a master chef.
"To cook well, one needs skill, and that comes from practice…"
"I can't use those powers yet… I have to start training. Especially when I might not be able to use any other ability from this world," he muttered, and his muttering was cut short soon when a loud voice jolted him and the rest of the class.
The gate was flung open and a blond menace looked at everyone with a broad, silly grin on his face.
"Uzumaki Naruto… Present! Dattebayo!"
